Do you actually plan around Drakes?

Now that we all had some time to experiment and adapt to the Elemental Drakes, I'm curious to see what people do with them at different ELO.

I'm a Top main, so Drakes have always been a distant concern for me, but I must admit that I don't really pay attention to the element nor do I change my strategy/game plan depending on the element. Do other people do it?

As a fellow top laner I'll always watch to assist my team when they have enough control down there for taking Dragon, but the only time I'll change my play to try and force it to happen is if it's a Wind Dragon.

Wind just helps me as a roam heavy top laner sooooo much. It directly impacts my ability to assist my team. My team might not think it helps them very much, but that's mainly because they don't see it as the reason their top laner was able to charge down to the team fight and help, rather than showing up too late.

If it's a Fire or Water Dragon I'll save my teleport just in case, and if it's an Earth I'll pretty much just ignore it and do some split pushing, but if it's Wind I'm all over it.

I'm similar to Redniwedis. I prefer Inferno simply because I typically play assassin or Leona support. I view it as either more damage I can do, or less damage the enemy would do if they don't get it. Wind plays a big role for me too because I understand how important the movement speed bonus can be to my play style. I usually don't charge in for Ocean or Mountain unless I feel I can steal it, at which point another dragon on our side is just another buff they don't get.

It just really depends what your team is looking like. Not many tanks? Mostly dps Champs? Secure every inferno. Too many tanks? Ocean drake will help with their healing and allow them to stay out on the map longer and provide more impact on the game.

Yeah, no, I understand the theory of what Drake is better in what situation. My point was more, whatever the Drake, whether it is a more or less valuable one, I don't adapt how I play. If I can get it for free, I'll take it (even if it's not a so useful one), but I won't go out of my way to get it (even if it's a more valuable one). And I was wondering if others actually planned around getting Drake, not using them.

Ah. My apologies. I usually do. I tend to main support Leona or mid Katarina so I'm typically nearby. Mostly as a support where I have more freedom to call shots rather than focus on farm, I try to coordinate a gank bot lane to force my opponents to B, then I'll ward their jungle and try to prompt an easy dragon for my jungler and adc while I stand between enemy team spawn and dragon pit so that I can discourage the enemy jungler from trying to steal. I try to plan dragon attempts as much as I can regardless of type (more so if it's a type I want) unless I feel my team is too far behind or would get destroyed in a teamfight while the entire enemy team is up.

no not really...though my mid to lategame calls get slightly different when we have some mountain drakes, as i get more incfident in burning down a objective with them, and i tend to put more effort into getting inferno, as it seems to be the overall most powerfull dragon, mostly because he's really easy to use.

For me if I can end the game at 20 I skip the drakes. If I am in a premade I can usually do this.
