Anti-lifesteal Item?

Greyrick··2 votes·12,621 views

Could we get get a small passive on an armor item that would cause a small percent damage per amount of lifesteal an attacking champion has? Kind of like the Liquid Ooze ability in Pokemon games making health draining abilities do damage instead of healing? I mean executioners calling is nice and all, but I'd like a bit more options besides forcing to buy that item plus having ignite to make sure a champ doesn't heal to full health from an attack speed/life steal combo/etc.

item 3075 and soon-to-be item 3143 counter lifesteal pretty well.

No, the new thornmail passive on PBE will not do anything to counter lifesteal. Its no longer reflected damage and the damage based off armor is down to 15% from 25%. Essentially the thornmail passive won't do anything, particularly on any champion that has scaling MR runes, or a maw, or a merc scimitar, or an EON to reduce the incoming thornmail passive damage. Not to mention sunfire is also nerfed so there goes that source of passive damage as well.

"Glass cannons" (adcs) should never be able to 1v1 a tank. They are supposed to counter tanks within the frame work of a team fight where they get peel and a front line.

That Thornmail/Randuin's change was very experimental and already removed in the next PBE patch.

executioners calling is good but doesn't work as a build option for most champions. Morellos only kicks in when the target is below 35% health. Thornmail was a decent option with tabi and randuins except that Thornmail passive is getting majorly nerfed with the coming tank update.

There needs to be a GW item to fit smoothly into any type of champion build/role before we can start talking about lifesteal being balanced or not. Additionally, champions shouldn't be able to attack tanks and use them as a bloodbag because they know they can lifesteal faster than the tanks can deal damage.

Lifesteal is countered by armor (since its healing by damage dealt) already.

And tanks are NOT supposed to BEAT LATE GAME ADCS with lifesteal, got it?

So with Armor pen taking a hit with the tank update, that's effectively an indirect nerf to lifesteal.

Also, with a classic sense of a tank. The ADC dueling a Tank is much more of an skill of the tank, more so if the Tank lands his full combo, you could kill the ADC out right.

And if it's not a Tank but a Juggernaut, the ADC dueling them is solely reliant on the ADC's ability to kite.

Armor.

So armor does reduce the amount of life steal? I always thought it was based on a champions attack speed. And Grasp of the Undying or Bloodlust ( I think that's the mastery?) nullifies the defenses against lifesteal right? Especially since bloodlust scales with crit now and champions like Tryndamere can just have ridiculous sustain unless they get burst down
