What solo queuers do not realize about Dynamic Queue. . . .

What solo queuers do not realize about Dynamic Queue is that Dynamic Queue relies entirely on solo queuers to function.

How?

Dynamic queue searches out solo players to fill in the gaps on premade teams. This way four-man premades can play together since the system finds a solo player to fill in that last slot, and three-man premades will get either two solos or a duo to fill in.

So what if there were no solo queuers for the system to fill in the empty slots with? What would happen?

If there were no solo queuers to fill in the empty slots, four-man premades would be completely unable to queue. Three-man premades would be forced to wait for a duo to become available, while five-man premades would have to wait for the enemy team to match together triple and duo premades if there wasn't another five-man available.

Four-man premades would cease to exist since they would be stuck in queue forever with no solos to fill in the last slot, while queue times for duo, triple, and five-man premades would increase to a point that people would get sick of waiting for matches and stop playing ranked.

To put it simply, Dynamic Queue relies on solo queuers to function, and without them it would collapse under its own weight.

TL;DR If solo players really wanted to get rid of Dynamic Queue they would stop playing ranked and let the system die.

Something will give, eventually. Solo players are a vital part of the machine, but they get treated like dirt by it. And I'm not just talking about the toxic group mentality of being the solo guy matched up with premades, no. Premades have higher IP gains, higher chances to get key and chests, and often easier ways to unlock bonus content during a special event compared to solo players.

I mean it's only a matter of time before Riot rewards playing as a premade with free blowjobs and cocaine. It's the soloQ players that really deserve the oral sex and illegal stimulants for putting up with DQ bullshit.

While I really wouldn't have said it like that, (Especially like that,) I have to agree.

As it is right now group play gets just about all the presents on the christmass tree, while solo players get that one tiny little present that's really just a package of socks.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Since the written word does not convey emotion well, you're forced to use colorful metaphors and memorable phrases to really get people to listen (or read, as the case may be).

My crack about drugs and sex will stick in your brain much more easily than me saying "Uh huh, and premades get all that other stuff too!". You hear that constantly when you dip into these kinds of threads, and your brain just kind of tunes it out after a while. But suddenly you glance down and see the word "blowjobs" and I have your attention.

Make no mistake, writing is an art whether it's a novel or a forum post. If you want people to read what you're writing, you're going to have to get creative to break away from the pack.

But enough about writing lectures, between you and me and anyone who bothered to scroll down; nothing is going to happen until soloQ players leave ranked en masse. The day that a four man premade has an estimated waiting time of >1 hour in every division is the day that Riot's recent misguided priorities will start to change.

That day might be approaching quicker than we thought, since the experience of turning serious, competitive ranked into "normals but with end of season rewards" is really going to drive competitive players away. Overwatch debuting around this time isn't going to help anything either, since people dissatisfied with their time spent in LoL can spend it there instead. RGMs getting longer durations and ARAM getting QoL upgrades will also pull more people off Summoner's Rift.

The pressure is building.

There would need to be a well organized strike. Solo queue players aren't going to randomly stop playing all at once.

This is entirely true.

In order to break the system, atleast 50% would have to stop playing for a minimum of one week.

That would atleast get Riots attention.

If 100% stopped for an entire week, Riot would be forced to do something.

However the likely hood of solo players stopping at all is practically none at all.

Except that the majority of people don't really care about dyna q.

Don't be fooled into thinking the boards are a significant chunk of the player base.

Sorry about the late reply, but I never said anything about the boards, just solo players in general.

Really the only way to get rid of solo queue is to break it by not using it. If solo players know this and continue playing ranked, than they don't really want it gone, and are simply just using it as an excuse as to why they are losing.

Being a solo myself, I readily admit that I'm not climbing up because of my own skill. I'm still going to play ranked, because honestly Dynamic Queue is not what's keeping me down, I am.

Good in theory, except there will always be "that one guy", who doesn't care.

Yeah there's always somebody who dimply doesn't care. I would be surprised if there weren't.

You forget that most of these solo spots are filled by smurfs/boosters :)
