Yo, this is probably the best thing I've ever seen. It gets old basically writing all that on every post about people bitching and crying about what Riot defines as the healthiest definition of an assassin they've ever made as well as easily the most predictable. I'll be saving this, and then be ready to pull it out on the forums every time someone makes it a point to stand on my shadow at 30% health and run to the forums to cry claiming Zed is OP.

Thats not what people get upset about.

For me it can be when he roams bot and literally one shots me before his R2 procs. Or the fact that he has the waveclear of a mage, but the safety of an assassin.

Surely the ranged slow on his shadow's E isn't necessary either, for one of the safest assassins.

Anyways those are just personal examples. I don't think your identifying why most people don't like Zed. And certainly calling the opposing side's arguments bitching and crying isn't good for the boards.

I mean all assassins live on a power budget. Some have CC, some have hyper mobility, some have sustain, some have stealth. Zed's power budget is pure damage and mobility on cooldown. Ekko has disengage, CC, slows, sustain. Akali has sustain, hyper stick potential, stealth. Rengar has stealth, tankiness, CC. I could go on. But Zed is just damage. Most assassins have had a phase where they were abused as tanks or alternative builds due to a problem with their kit. However, Zed has always been Zed. His kit does one thing and only one thing. And that's why Riot loves him. He's the perfect example of an assassin. Get in, get out, kill.

He's bitched about, but the link still highlights his counterplay. He's always been one of the most predictable and counterplayable assassins in League. The problem is that he can be a lane pub stomp. He defeats most conventional champions 1v1, and with enough mechanics and forethought, can beat just about any champion 1v1. Solo queue is a game of pride and the desire to be the best, and having a champion that can make you look like an idiot is infuriating, but his numbers don't show anything significant besides that he's disliked. Once you dissect why he's hated, it's not a balance issue so much as a general gameplay problem.

Your problem of him roaming bot is something all assassins share. Talon/Kassadin do it better. If people hate his mobility, Leblanc/Talon/Kassadin do it better. If people hate his CC, Ekko/Rengar/any assassin with CC does it better (Basically all of them but Katarina). If his burst is hated, Katarina/Talon/Rengar do it better. He's an assassin that is completely telegraphed. He can't do anything you can't see right on your screen. From where he pops out from his ult to seeing his shadows on the field. This is unlike Akali that shrouds or Talon that stealths and could just be liable to do anything in the blink of an eye. Katarina can shunpo to anyone/dagger in an instant without reaction time. He requires high coordination to play at a high level and has so much counterplay in a team setting.

And yes, I refer to boards complaining as bitching and crying because Boards is a tiny percent of the game's population, and is predominantly Bronze-silver players. Most people, including me, have no place talking about balance. The fact is if Zed was a serious problem, we'd see him in the LCK or consistently in high challenger. He's not.

buddy, even zed players know he's strong as hell, arguably too strong

That's why he barely touches 49% winrate

Popular champions have deflated win rates, his win rate doesn't reflect his potential when mains are playing him.

Also win rate does not stand up on its own as proof of anything. You have to do further analysis and correlations to try to support any kind of claims.

I have mixed feelings about Zed, yes he's healthy in some aspects but also unhealthy in others. I'm Plat 3 currently so I hope my perspective sheds a bit of light for you. Zed does have a healthy laning phase and trade patterns, avoid the shuriken from both the real and shadow zed to negate taking a lot of damage, however the problem comes down to when teamfights start to break out. Zed can, to a certain degree, freely Ult your ADC blink out and let is shadows do the rest of his damage to just pop them, you're now down a teammate and it's a 4v5 situation with you on your backfoot. The fact that Zed can reliably pop a squishy through just his shadows alone is not a healthy design, most assassin's need to hard commit to get their kills which is healthy design as it also opens them up to being killed themselves, too much safety in an assassin's kit puts them closer to being Over-Powered or Over-Tuned. When someone asks me what is a Healthy assassin play-style the first champion that comes to mind is Talon, he has to commit to getting a kill and his escape is conditional on there being a wall he hasn't already hopped over nearby.
