Reworking Zeke's Herald

According to Elophant, Zeke's Herald, Ohmwrecker, Ardent Censer, and Banner of Command are all some of the least used items in game right now. I think the reason they are picked less is because they are not worth the item slot or the money. They provide low stats, Ardent Censer and Mikael's Crucible and Ohm Wrecker and Banner of Command have negligible abilities, and Zeke's Herald's passive is an aura, which is "hidden power", something Riot has been trying to get rid of (see Sona's changes). Thus, I have devised new purposes for these items, as well as new build paths, as an attempt to show possible directions for these less used items.

As Support Items, I want them to stay centered on supporting, but with more support centered abilities. These will all now be Legendary Tier items, and will have a cost (~3000g) that reflect's their abilities.

item 3504 Mikael's Censer: I decided to combine Ardent Censer and Mikael's Crucible because it feels like it would work better this way. > *Builds From item 3028 and item 3113 * Cost: 3000 Gold (1250 Gold) +40 Ability Power +25 Magic Resist +50% Mana Regeneration Unique Passive: +8% Movement Speed Unique Passive: Mana Font - Restores 2% of missing Mana every 5 seconds. Unique Passive: Your heals and shields on another unit grant them 20% Attack Speed for 6 seconds. UNIQUE Active: Removes all stuns, roots, taunts, fears, silences, and slows on an allied champion and heals that champion for 150 (+25% of Ability Power) (180 second cooldown).

item 3060 Banner of Command: Instead of having an item that buffs minions, I decided that the best use for Banner of Command would be to buff you to make you a bigger threat. > *Builds from item 3067, item 1057, and item 1031 * Cost: 3200 Gold (750 Gold) +300 Health +45 Armor +45 Magic Resist Unique Passive: +10% Cooldown Reduction Unique Active: For the next 7 seconds, you gain +25% size, and allies within 500 of you upon activation will be marked with Presence of the Commander. If an ally marked with Presence of the Commander were to take damage, 15% of that damage is dealt to you instead. Damage dealt to you this way will be considered spell damage when factoring in reactions to damage source, but will remain the same type of damage (Magic, Physical, True). (120 second Cooldown)

item 3056 Ohmwrecker: For Ohmwrecker, I decided that this item would be able to apply a mark on an enemy unit or structures that deals extra damage when an ally deals damage to them. > *Build from item 3057 and item 3801 * Cost: 2900 Gold (1100 Gold) +300 Health +100% Base Health Regen +25 Magic Damage +250 Mana UNIQUE Passive - Spellblade: After using an ability, the next basic attack marks the enemy unit or stucture hit with Electrical Weakness for 6 seconds. When another allied unit deals damage to that enemy, the mark is consumed, shocking the enemy, and dealing (40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 140, 155, 170, 195, 210, 235) True Damage. You may only have one instance of Electrical Weakness at a time. (1.5 second cooldown)

item 3050 Zeke's Herald: With Zeke's Herald, I wanted to turn it into a sustain item whose power was shifted to an active, visible ability. > Builds from item 1053 and item 3145 Cost: 3000 Gold (1000 Gold) +40 Ability Power +30 Attack Damage Unique Active: You buff yourself with The Shield of Zeke and target ally with The Sword of Zeke for the next 6 seconds (Range: 400). During this time, all damage you take heals your ally for 20%, and all damage your ally deals heals you for 20%.

Zekes herald is the most cost / gold efficient item in the game. I want you to realize this.

Banner of command is great where it is. very niche and for push / siege comps.

also great for splitpushing, especially vs dual-ap-comps that will have to send their adc away to deal with it.

Then why are they so underused if they are that good? There are many more useful items in the game.

usefull? yes, efficient? no.

ATM lifesteal is super undervalued.

  1. That would make it a must buy, and shift the support meta in favor of supports that would benefit from getting it. (which is what they are trying to avoid.

  2. Your removing the main gimmick that Banner of command is suppose to give. Buffing yourself does not even the fit of a banner or being a standard bearing. (Really it may not even be a support item.)

  3. Interesting, but focuses a particular type of champ too much. Especially broken when paired with champs that have similar abilities. (such as Kalista)

  4. full of contradictions. What happened to the LS and vamp that you Purchased? Taking damage healing your ally is only good on a tank support who wouldn't buy LS or Vamp.

and over all, these Items are too expensive for what a Support wants to buy. Support items are generally Gold Efficient, slot inefficient.

Suppose Zeke's Herald and Banner of Command were shifted from being support items to being general tank items. Would that fit better? Honestly, I hardly ever see either anymore, and the same could be said for it's lack of use even at Challenger. Their usefulness is so limited and constrained to a rare instance where they are useful.

The thing about that is, If your the Teams tank, You want to be greedy with your item choices. Cause being a better tank helps the team more so that a supportive item. Which is why it's really nice if the support can get either a Locket or banner for the MR aura, so that your Tank Jungler can get a specter's cowl item instead, and be more tanky over all, than if he himself had to get Locket. As much power as they have, Auras can have noticeable effects on the team, in such a way that is still healthy for the game. and the Legion aura is a good example of this. But it's on the support to get these items because they benefit the team the most by NOT being greedy.

Zekes as it is, is just plain niche. You would essentially need a AD focus Team comp with an Emphasis on auto attacking, and it makes up for a supports lack of sustain. Other wise, their are many alternatives that will help the team in other ways. And Censor somewhat steps on Zekes toes because it grants bonus damage and AS on heal and shield.

  1. No, no-ideal-use conflict.
  2. Just no.
  3. That just make towers even more fragile mid game
  4. Too binary. If built on a tank, it breaks the team. If built on a carry, it makes cleanup too easy. Or you're so far ahead that it does nothing useful for you anyway.

If you wanna rework Zeke's, just make its active into old school Rally. At least it would make sense.

Ardent sensor is good how it is and if u don't have a heal Or shield why use it... Ohmnewrecker is pretty underused however the way they were going to do was buff allie turrets by 100% damage for like 4 sec and disable enemy turrets for 4 sec . I do not see anyone ever get zekes Harold I mean sure if the adc and supp both got it and stood next to each other that's 40 ad and 20% lifesteal not bad but requires both to get .

Banner is fine how it is escpeally vs a ap heavy team mostly I get it to clear teemo shrooms since the minion you buff is immune to magic damage

Zekes herald is an incredibly overpowered item in all AD comps Its in a good spot and does its job well.
