People would go on a witch hunt if Zed had 54% winrate for every single patch since release.
Zed also has a lot less than Ahri does. But I guess 53-54% winrate is fine and her having it through every single patch since release means she's "balanced" and "consistent".
Because like, 53-54% winrate by itself in one patch alone totally isn't on the higher end either usually. And I guess Ahri being one of the top 3 best picks for mid for just about every single patch since release outside of obviously broken mid releases is fine and shows her being "balanced" and "consistent".
Let me make it clear by the way, just in case some dullards don't get it. Ahri isn't a champion who's absurdly broken like release Xin/Silencing Kassadin/release Camille. But she is still broken and needs tuning. Not huge nerfs, but some.
CC, Zed only has a slow which he needs to hit a point blank E on. Ahri has hard CC through Charm. Ahri is better in this regard.
Mobility, both check. Zed's W mobility is extremely limited though, and his R mobility is situational. Ahri gains MS or a nonconditional dash for her Q and R respectively. Ahri is better in this regard.
Sustain, only Ahri. Ahri is better in this regard.
Resources, Ahri has fairly low mana costs as long as she doesn't spam like an idiot. Zed has near permanent sustain in lane, but is limited to essentially a few moves and then having to wait several seconds for energy to recover regardless of cooldowns. More or less tied.
True damage, only Ahri. Ahri is better in this regard.
Burst, Zed has stronger flat burst, but is restricted by the 3s timer pop. Ahri has less burst, but has enough to still kill any carry the second she lands E because it is immediate. More or less tied.
"Failability" of the kit (missing abilities, etc), only Zed's R is technically unmissable, although his E somewhat falls into the regard if it's pointblank (excluding when the target uses mobility to get away before Zed can E). Ahri has two auto-targeting abilities, one with fairly high damage. Zed's ultimate deals almost nothing by itself unless he actually hits other abilities, meaning he can just be CC'd to prevent the mirror pop. Ahri is better in this regard.
Safety, Zed has W and R, Ahri has Q MS buff, E for CC, and R for mobility. Zed cannot immediately shift to W shadow upon cast, but R has untargetability. Ahri's E is missable outside of point blank, but MS buff is immediate as is her R. Ahri is better in this regard.
Waveclear, Zed vs Ahri. Zed's waveclear in early is fairly bad unless he uses W which is also his only escape or poke mechanism that is likely to hit (Q and E are dodgeable easily unless pointblank, W making it harder to react to and dodge both). Ahri's isn't too amazing until she gets a Lost Chapter or so, but afterwards, her Q waveclear is fairly decent. Zed is still limited to only the wave directly in his face unless he expends W for waveclear. Ahri is better in this regard.
Range, Melee vs Range. Ahri is better in this regard.
