What Riot Figured Out

There's a fair way to make money, but usually the fair way leads to small gains and at most, will let you reach the middle class. To make more money, you have to make great deals. And to make great deals, you have to maneuver, or in other words, lie.

The genius of Riot that brought them all their gains is realizing that the most fun is gained from completely destroying you opponents. It isn't fun to simply scrape by. No, one must feel completely superior and enjoy the fruits of their abilities.

However, a fair and equal matchmaking system would ruin such a fantasy. In order to allow people to feel the fun of blowout victories, Riot purposefully made matchmaking unfair so that players would have the chance to enjoy completely dominating their opponents, if only from time to time. The thrill of doing so truly propels a majority of players. Nothing feels quite as good as that high of either being the reason your team won or the reason the opponents lost (all depends on your perspective).

What does this mean? It means that Riot is selling you crack cocaine when it claims to be selling you weed. You're gonna be hooked unless you become the wiser. Why else would some dumb people spend over a thousand dollars on a free to play and be so delusional that they actually come on public forums like this and attempt to justify it? The insane thin is, most people will actually back up these types of decisions, probably because they wish they could be in a financial position to do the same.

There is no world where one team absolutely dumpstering another results in riot making more money. Poor logic in my opinion

Trust me dude, Riot doesn't only have plans to make the game of LoL more RNG related, they have freaking planTs to do so. They've realized that making the game more team orientated has lessened the impact of individual play which lessens the ability of solo carry players to really impact the game and to make up for that, they're hoping the RNG can create instances where games can "grow" wildly out of control.

Riot and the player base may disagree on many things, but RNG is not one of them. No one likes it. The critical strike system has been a problem recognized by Riot and they are working on a solution for it, in fact. We know little about plants, but what we do know is that they will spawn at specific locations at specific times. Not RNG. Very predictable.

Dude...I'm not discounting your point about them pushing for more snowbally games. I'm saying that there's no way that impacts how much Riot makes. It's like you're saying I have a college degree so I'm able to run around the world. The two claims literally have nothing to do with each other.

Well, allow me to help you out with your conundrum. You see, I clearly state that people enjoy winning in a snowball and what happens when people enjoy something? Hmmm, do they do it more? Do they eventually start joining the skin club? Do people spend more money on things they enjoy or don't enjoy. Or maybe I'm just running around the world cuz I got a college degree.

but the other half of the players that just get dumpstered aren't gonna spend money.....either all of the players spend money or you half of the players spend more money....either way its still pretty much the same amount of money....

and grow up dude...a hefty majority of the people here have college degrees, just because you have one doesn't mean you know anything about how riot runs their business

edit.....my bad i totally forgot that i included the thing about the college degree in my original analogy...i take that last bit back, totally forgot what i had written before

You're really not understanding anything are you? Everyone gets to dumpster. Some more than others. Never did I say half the players are going to get dumpstered every time. However, I do believe people don't mind getting dumpstered if they know they will have the opportunity to do the same. My initial argument states that a truly balanced matchmaking creates less highs and lows in gameplay, thus making the game less enjoyable, thus, less profitable. If you have a problem with this logic, please state your reason.

I have issues with two parts of logic (and this is just my opinion so obviously there's a chance that either of us could be right). I feel like I would enjoy a game more when it is truly competitive up until the last moment. When I'm stomping, sure it can be fun but it isn't competitive and that's what I want in the game. When I'm getting stomped, it just feels like nothing I could've done would've made a difference anyway. I just want games to be competitive and actually rely on your ability to team fight. So I guess, and sure this may just be my opinion, but I like this game better when the games are close and fun.

Secondly, I really don't think that Riot makes more money from having games be more snowbally. But we've already discussed this so we don't have to go further into detail on this.
