Is there any reason to pick Irelia over Jax if 9.3 goes through?

After 9.3 Jax will officially have ...

• Better survivability: E negates all auto attacks making him practically invulnerable to AD champions and to add insult to injury also reduces area of effect damage (amazing against Mages). To top it off his ultimate gives him a metric fuck ton of armor and magic resist. I’ve had games where I’ve achieved 200+ armor from my ultimate alone. What does Irelia have? A shitty channeled damage reduction that will now only reduce physical damage (if a Syndra is on the enemy team kill your self it’ll be less painful than being hit by her ultimate).

• Better Dueling: This is a given but after this next patch Irelia’s dueling potential will actually plummet. Having to stack your passive 5 times (gaining shitty attack speed for each stack) and only achieving the bonus magic damage when at maximum stacks is garbage. Irelia can actually duel Jax early and win up until level 11 but after these changes it’ll be a nightmare. Also this damage doesn’t scale with your bonus ad anymore and is a flat amount. LMFAO.

Im genuinely curious as to why you’d pick Irelia over Jax right now actually. I still pick her because I genuinely like the champion and her thematic is why I got into the game, but after these changes I don’t think I’ll be able to bring myself to pick her in ranked. Virtually every skirmisher match up absolutely fucks her in top lane right now while also outscaling her (looking at you Fiora & Riven) and after these changes I don’t even want to imagine what her winrate will look like. What could be worse than a 42% winrate in Diamond+? LOL
