Why Riot Should Permanently Bring Back Team Builder
So, I know I'm not the only person saying this, but I just thought I'd throw my two cents into why I really believe that Riot's removal of Team Builder in favor of the new dynamic queue was a rather large error. Their justification for this is that the dynamic queue system resolves many of the issues that they were trying to solve with Team Builder.
The problem is that it doesn't.
I'd like to list some of the reasons why Team Builder is still a superior system than the new dynamic queue SPECIFICALLY for casual play. I don't necessarily agree that the new queue helps all that much with ranked play, but I'm willing to save that for a more dedicated ranked player to discuss as to whether or not they agree. Anyway here's my list.

All players knew what they were getting themselves into in the Team Builder setting: I really can't make it any simpler than that. Everyone knew what they were getting themselves into. They could see what people they were dealing with in what position and either say, "eh, why not?" or "nope". There was no room for complaining if someone tried to go support Yorick, because you knew and could have opted out before clicking "Ready". For example, since his rework, I've really enjoyed playing Jungle Graves, and in Team Builder I felt fine doing that because if someone didn't want a jungling Graves on their team, they could just kick me and I'd move on to a different queue, it was all good. However in the new queue, while my teammates can opt out of playing with my Jungle Graves, they face dodge penalties, just because they'd rather play with a more well-established jungler. I can completely understand that sentiment, and I like to think I'm not a troll so out of respect for my team, I'll choose not to do that, but if I am a troll...

Trolls don't care about the new queue: One of the biggest problems with all of the regular queues is that trolls can hold you hostage. This is true in both normals, where you face dodge penalties in the form of low priority queues, and in ranked where you lose LP in addition to the aforementioned. Frankly, the new queue doesn't change this at all. It is still possible for someone to last minute switch to Kog'maw, refuse to jungle and just go top lane, and go 2/17 (true story). I perfectly understand that there's a limit to what you can do to prevent trolling, however, this is another issue that wasn't extremely prevalent in Team Builder due to the captain's ability to control who is and who isn't in his/her team.

The new queue system is not a faster process: Now this one is entirely up to one's personal experience, but mine has been that this new queue is a pain in the ass to deal with. My cycle has been typically: lock in position, queue up, wait 3-5 minutes pick intended champion, have someone forget to lock in a ban or pick, queue gets disbanded, rinse and repeat for 2-3 more queues. Once again, rarely occurred in Team Builder, unless you playing a very questionably off-meta position.

Team Builder was the best system for practicing a new role/champion in the game: Once again, self-explanatory. Most of the champions I learned to play (well), I learned in Team Builder, because there was a 100% guarantee that eventually, I'd be able to play that role. In regards to the new queue system, I can honestly say that I have gotten my primary role less than 50% of the time. I've recently decided to start practicing Jungle Malphite, however I find myself normally having to go either support, or top lane. Now some of you may ask, "what about blinds?" while I concede that blinds takes care of issue 3, as it is relatively fast. It does not take care of issues 1 and 2, which I believe take precedence over 3.
So anyway, those are the reasons that I think Team Builder should remain in the client, agree/disagree? Share your thoughts...or don't, I'll probably forget I posted this tomorrow anyway.
