Can You Please Add A Delay On Leblanc's W

Nothing's more disheartening than getting chunked by Leblanc only to W back to her original spot instantly so you can't even touch her.

I've heard people say LeBlanc has counterplay, but other than picking a champion that counters her in lane I don't know what counter play they speak of, for the exact reason you mention.

Immobilize or silence her once she used W.

Voilà the mark fades before she can return.

In lane she levels W and it is the bulk of her offense, also on a long cd. When she burns her W, she has no damage and no escape; harass the crap out of her. Her waveclear is not optimal, champions like anivia and velkoz who can clear just shove her to the turret where she has limited ability to do anything. In the laning phase, she's not that hard to counter.

Come mid game, she is actually countered by 2 things: grouping and vision control. Without flanks, LB suffers terribly; she needs a clear shot to get her E off, and her W is far too short ranged to be reliable; if they let you get within W range of a squishy, they deserve to lose. If you have vision control, she can't flank, and you can protect your squishies from the bulk of her damage: her q is the only reliable spell, since E can be bodyblocked and W is low range enough that it's problematic. CC shuts her down hard in teamfights, and she is extremely squishy; one good CC spell is enough to knock her out for good. The counterplay around her is proper team play, vision control, and grouping. If you split push or wander through the jungle alone without vision, LB is going to constantly murder you.

The problem is, most often people fail against LB in lane. And then she becomes a horror (like any fed champ) and you feel like there's no counterplay because this LB who is 10/0 from other people can instagib you no issue with her ulted W. But in most instances, you need a double-proc'd R on Q or E in order to actually kill, and if you're not ahead, you won't be able to do even that. She also falls off hard once people start building tanky, and there's not much you can do about it; health counters her and she has no way around that.

From someone who plays a lot of LB, that's the counterplay. Primarily if you focus on vision control and proper positioning, as well as grouping, she won't be much of a threat. But sadly, you are punished for your teammates mistakes, just like you are on any assassin.

Yeah that's one of the things I hate about LB. Sure, she has a tough time lategame, and that is pretty decent justification for her being good early/midgame, but two high dmg targeted abilities + high dmg, low risk flash with big aoe (or one high dmg targeted ability + two high dmg flashes) doesn't allow for much counterplay. You also have no chance of busting out of her E if she hits it barring a dash/blink.

Then there's her passive which is a 100% get out of jail free card that directly contradicts the idea of outplaying her.

You have to be able to predict LB W to counter it, which is fine. There are ways to outplay her damage if you know how to play LB and play against her. Knowing the cooldown on her W lets you know when you can trade with her as well. Also there are a number of champs right now that counter her. Making her not be able to go back to her W right away means she instantly dies in a teamfight without being able to do damage.

no, it means she instantly dies right after dealing all of her damage

Yea I agree. Being able to insta-chunk someone with no risk versus reward really sucks. There is no danger for her to do this and its not even a skill shot in the least. No skill to Q and W someone and W away to safety in a split second. Ive tried stunning her in it with Pantheon and that doesnt even work. I did the stun before she started it and it had no effect on her at all. There needs to be a 1 or 2 second delay before she can W again back to her original spot to make it more balanced IMO.

Koechophe4 votes

Her W isn't actually that great of range. If you let her get in W range of you, you're doing something wrong. Besides the fact that if you predict it, it's perfectly possible to dodge it.

Added to that, LB is extremely vulnerable to both harass and waveclear. Just stand back and clear the waves, and LB will be in a really bad spot. Her damage is frontloaded into her W in lane, so if you make her blow that, harass the crap out of her because she now has no escape.

LB is also extremely reliant on flanking; rushing into teamfights with W results in death, because it essentially throws you into melee range where you will get ccd. If you have vision control, she can't flank, and you can push her out. That, or good grouping, will really punish her. And any item like banshees or zonyas will render her innert.

If you want to beat LB, just remember she has a limited threat range on her W, don't let her use it and you WILL win engages. In lane, her only damage is also her only escape, play around that. And above all else, ward control and good positioning will remove much of her power.

Woah woah slow down there bud.

A 0.33 - 0.5 second delay once Leblanc deals damage with her W makes more sense. A 1-2 second delay once Leblanc deals damage with her W is a legitimate gutting.

Hi! I main LeBlanc in mid lane, whenever I don't get my adc role. I think I can offer some advice for playing vs her and some /nerfs/changes to LeBlanc. Currently, LeBlanc sits at a low 46% win rate, but that should be expected, as she is actually quite difficult to play outside of laning. Only her dedicated player base should be winning games with her. Notorious for her extreme mobility and obnoxious saftey when bursting, her laning phase is a nightmare unless you go in there with a specific counter to her.

Distortion was actually nerfed a bit ago, going from really fast to kind of sluggish. In comparison anyways. Distortion feels less smooth to use, but its still manageable. When she goes for the q, she will most definitely go in for the w if she is in range. A few tips to help deal with that. Use any kind of instant cc when she is coming in. She can't curve while dashing, so line nuke stuns/snares/knockbacks will immediately end distortion, and put her in a bad spot. Thats the first tad bit of advice.

Secondly, after LeBlanc lands with distortion, aim skillshots back at the pad. Its hard to get used to, but once she q w's in, she has nothing left, save chains. She will almost always distort back right away, especially in minions. Aim your skillshot at the pad, and if its a multi hit line nuke, try to line it up on her and the pad. If you can't, just aim for the pad.

Third, the reason LeBlanc's laning is oppressive isn't because of distortion, contrary to popular belief. It is the raw damage on her targeted q, and distortion sets that off, making Distortion look like its doing enormous damage, when in reality its sigil of malic. Honestly, the best way we can change this is to make it a skillshot first and foremost. Second, the damage can be nerfed, and third, give it more damage on the pop. That way, she isn't playing the stay back and Sigil poke, but it isn't lock on oppressive. However, if that were the case she would need buffs elsewhere, because a lot of her power comes from the lock on Q R burst.

Overall, as a LeBlanc player, I feel like nerfing Distortion isn't the way to go, especially in teamfights where it is hard to go in kill then get out. Adding a delay would only further make her late game feel more difficult. Instead, I would shift power in her Q, making it not a lock-on skill, but require aiming, for a better trade off after setting it off.

I hope some of my tips help [slayer-jinx-catface]

I couldn't disagree more. I play LB often, and her Q NEEDS to stay lock on. In order to proc it correctly, you have to land either W or E, both of which have heavy drawbacks. If Q was a skill shot too, lb wouldn't be even remotely reliable, and would likely border on useless.

NapaIm1 votes

Well, thats why I said IF they did that they would have to buff her elsewhere. But yes, her Q is what makes her reliable.

Don't bother. Most people here don't want to learn, they just want to complain.

"Hi, I'm a main of X champion that everyone seems to hate. Here's why they're not OP and how to beat them."

Cue heavy downvotes.

NapaIm2 votes

imig. I thought I brought up reasonable points. Just finished a ranked game as her, and thank god I can distort out. Against anyone with hard cc she has it hard, and Fizz is also a mega counter. But I guess because a champ is a good lane bully, and can kill someone because they were outplayed, they are OP and should be gutted.

I've seen you around, and feel for ya. Must be tough to be a yasuo main and have to deal with everyone. I personally only though he was broken when Warlords Blood Lust could apply to minions, but what do I know compared to the circlejerk?

Slamurai Jack1 votes

He's actually weaker now than he was in 5.21 now that Warlords has been hotfixed. Shiv doesn't provide nearly as much of a power spike as it did before and less AD in the game and in masteries hurts him a lot. Yes, he gets 100% crit from Shiv and Cloak but there's so much less AD that it doesn't even matter. I'll take 80% crit with 5.21 Shiv and IE over 100% crit with 5.22 Shiv and IE any day.

I logged onto this forum for the first time in several years of playing this game to type up a sincere request for Leblanc to be removed from the game. I just finished a game in normals with both teams having a Leblanc (ours was AD leblanc top :/ ). I'm a gold support main, and I honestly find that every game against a leblanc she is either screwed over or we have to huddle in fear from the queen of death. I do my best to ward against her, I focus her with all of my might when she dives in during teamfights, and still find her to be an oppressive and plain toxic experience to play against. The amount of space she can move with W & R makes for unending frustration, hell the times I see her on screen and hear her W onto someone my blood boils. I see her during load screen and wish I could abandon the game then and there, regardless of my role. If Riot won't rework her W into something less plain stupid, can they at least make it so that she doesn't get so much damage from building a measly Morellos? Doran's ring into Morellos, and if she so much as looks at me I die trying to do my job. Not to mention that Riot removed my beloved Runic Bulwark and then nerfed down Aegis/Locket Aura. What is fun or fair about having her in this game?

Seenan1 votes

I think they gotta give her more damage on her E, tbh. They made her W projectile speed (aka, her flying to hit the target) slower. E is always untouched in buffs/nerfs from what I see, but honestly, her ult-Q or ult-W is way more significant than her ult-E, despite being another snare which is usually situational.

With that being said, move some ratio or damage or something from her W or ult-W to E and/or ult-E? It'd chunk you less, especially if they miss the usual inevitable E that follows after.

Divewing1 votes

TIP: think of W as a ranged ability. Not a melee ability. The fact that she, as a ranged champion, has to get even that close to chunk you out should be fair enough, they could have easily given her a ranged nuke instead, which wouldn't even require her to approach you in the first place.

Rysophage1 votes

no, that would destroy her. aim your abilities to where she teleported from. duh.
