It amazes me that someone on the Riot balance team took a look at Ekko and said "that's about right"

"1.3 Ap ratio on two easy to land basic skills? Yeah throw that in there. HUMONGOUS shield and heal? Looks great! A dash and two blinks? Do it that sounds awesome! How about we stick an enormous speed boost in there just in case he's not mobile enough. The speed boost isn't enough throw some damage in there! What else does he need, oh how about enormous AOE hard cc on a basic ability, sounds good lets make it bigger than anything any support has. But wait, he hasn't got a slow yet! Add a slow to every skill it would conceivably make sense to have slow. Cooldowns? LIke, pfff, nothing, just give him no cooldowns that'll be great.

Now we just have to make him as obnoxious as humanly possible, with voice lines and enormous particle effects on every single skill, and make absolutely sure that if you've got one on either team NOBODY's going to know what the heck is going on, and he's absolutely perfect."

The worst part is, now we have to wait until the special snowflake players get their hands on him for a patch or two, and only after he shits on the LCS for a month will Riot decide to do something.

Used to be, we hotfixed crap like this when a champion was released in a state that was absolutely busted.

Why are all forum posters these days a bunch of whiny grandpas? "Back in my day," "Get off my lawn Ekko," etc.
