[OPINION] The future of new champions

Xayah and Rakan, the first ever dual champion release. Sure, some champion releases have been close together, but none have ever been together. It's a bit early to ask ourselves if this was worth it, but my humble opinion is resoundingly YES! That feeling of being able to learn lots of new skills and playstyles is certainly enticing, but with a multi-champ release, it's a much more exciting feeling.

When New/Reworked champions are released, it's a big rush centering around these champions. It's whoever can pick that champion first, try them out first. (Doesn't work in ranked, bans, inexperienced noobs, blah blah blah). But seeing multiple new champs in a game, and not having any clue how the game will turn out? That's a priceless feeling. It's like peering off a cliff, and jumping. Scary, hectic, crazy, but exciting nonetheless.

Again, opinion here, but I would like to see more of this in the future. It does take more time inbetween champion releases, but I think it's worth the payoff. The VGUs seem to be in the spotlight right now, and this is the perfect time for Riot to explore this new model. We might even be privvy enough to experience a triple champion release some day! Bit of a fantasy, but I think it would be very interesting. I just feel like if you agree, and that we should have more synchronised champ releases, then let it be known! What do you think?

My only request for Xayah and Rakan are to have 'reactive' ban and pick quotes, like if Rakan gets banned and Xayah gets picked she has a different quote than if she is simply picked and no attention is paid to Rakan. Similarly if both Rakan and Xayah are banned, then who ever gets banned afterwards has a different ban quote than if he/she was simply banned without the other one.

Similarly if they both are in the match and when they die, their model is pointed towards the other one who was alive at the time of his/her death. It would be a super cool interaction that I don't think is in any game.

That's good and all, and it would be cool to see that. But do you like how 2 champions were released at once?

I read somewhere that Gragas and Pantheon were released in a similar pattern.

It seems you're right, Feb 2nd, 2010. I believe they stopped doing it back then because (A) Champs were too new to VGU (B) There weren't a lot of champions to pick from (C) There wasn't much else to get hyped for

I think, however, those problems have lessened a lot, so now would be a fantastic time to start doing it again!
