Clearly Riot hates Yasuo mains as much as other people I've seen but they know Blood Moon Yas sells like hotcakes.

Yasuo shreds your armor if he gets his ult on you. Doesn't matter if you're a tank or not, he'll rip you into pieces if they're good enough.

As a survivor of that experience, I have to disagree.

Tanks take ults to the face all the time, Yasuo's is no different.

Yasuo's ult gives him 50% bonus armor pen after (on everyone btw not just those hit by the ult).

Calculate it all you want, Yasuo's ult never really bothered me as a tank. :/

It only did serious damage when I was playing a marksman or mage. This is from personal experience so you're just gonna have to take my word for it.

Also, bonus armor penetration is a lot less than straight armor penetration, just saying.

Now, if it did magic damage...

I was simply pointing out what makes people think it is effective against tanks (idk whether it is or isn't).

Okay (I kind of wish there was some sort of tone in text so communication isn't so hit and miss).

I think the biggest reason that everyone assumes some ability "eliminates" tanks is because they're just looking at the attack stats and not considering the tank's hp and resistances.

Although things look intimidating on paper (apparently Last Whisper is supposed to turn Vayne's Q into an anti-tank missile) it's decidedly less impressive when on the field. Sure, 500 true damage is a lot, but by the end of it, the tank still looks healthy so who cares?

It's effective if you have to lane against him. In a team fight scenario, you laugh at him and CC him while your carries blow him up.

I don't even think it's that useful in lane. Both parties barely have any bonus armor to penetrate throughout much of the laning phase, not to mention Yasuo needs crit to get the bonus armor penetration at all. As a Yasuo main who's done his fair share of ulting, I can tell you that in general it's more useful for the passive shield refresh and CC than it is for the armor pen. Team fights and catching tanks out are when the armor pen really comes into play and as you mention if you don't do it just right in a team fight you just end up dying.

That's if the tank isn't actually a tank and built damage to perhaps kill the Yasuo. Or if you were with your team and they felt it was key to prioritize damage on him. Otherwise GG

Tanks have the Armor and HP to survive a Yasuo ult and still be able to fight. Also, most tanks have some form of CC which shuts down Yasuo's HARD (Sion, Vi, Lee, Diana, Hecarim, etc...) CC a Yas for a second and he's toast. Same with Yi. Which is why we tanks do not fear a Yasuo. We don't let them freecast.
