Why is everyone in such extreme denial about the tanky metagame right now?

How's that go for you though? (Cleaver is a tanky/bruiser item)

Some ADC build item 3071 , other build one of the two item 3036 item 3033 along with item 3142 sometimes and the item 3135 is built on every mage. I mostly play Viktor and Malz and after Void staff (and Liandry on Malz) it doesn't take ages for tanks to die.

We are not talking about pure tanks. You aren't reading properly.

Okay. I was Nautilus top last night.

End game. about 5.5k Hp. My W gave me a 950 shield. I had item 3190 which gave an additional 345 shield and i even bought item 3401 to get another 550 shield (or to shield my ADC further if needed).

so. 5.5k HP and 1845 in shields (7345 total)

I had 235 total armor and 176 MR.

It took their lucian less than 4 seconds to kill me after he built item 3036.

I'm an Illaoi main. but if their ADC builds item 3033 or item 3036. Its very hard to survive a teamfight. Even if i build full tank.

I will say most tanks (of all shapes/sizes) are pretty good, but its definitely not a tank meta. The reason Fizz, Ekko and Yasuo have built tanky is because of the high damage that gets put out by mages and mostly ADCs. Even then, they are all highly mobile skirmishers/fighters so they are allowed to build defensive items anyway. They still build quite a bit of damage when going "tanky" which puts them closer to champions like LeeSin Vi Jax XinZhao OlafIrelia Pantheon Renekton than champions like Nautilus Malphite Maokai Rammus

Ah, there's your problem. You built pure tank. You'd need some tanky items or pure damage items as Nautilus and that won't be a problem because they'd die before they could hit you a few times. It is 100% a tanky meta. Not a tank meta. I never said tank meta. Tanks get wrecked, tanky champions do the wrecking.

If everyone needs to build damage to be useful then it isn't a tank or tanky meta.

Your argument makes no sense. You either see high damage carries or very mobile champs that do good damage while building some defense. But they really need some mobility or a way to both engage and disengage.

Building really tanky isn't that great.

I used to think a lot like you do, but here's the way it works.

You initiate, get focused, and die. Your team should (And this is a big risk) follow up on your initiation and continued CC. Likelihood is, you should be trading one death for at least 3 assists. Anything less than that, and you should be able to either sustain through it or just run away until allies come to save your tanky ass.

tanky=/= bruiser. tanky is not what you are thinking of, i can assure you

You're thinking of tank. There is a difference between being full something and partially something. Bruisers are partially tanky and partially retarded damage machines.

So a Bruiser fits the line between tank and full damage. i.e. tanky. Items that are tanky items include but are not limited to:

Cleaver, Hourglass, Abyssal, and Maw.

Vi is a tanky champion. She is a bruiser. She deals lots of damage and can take a huge beating. Braum is a tank champion, he deals minimal damage but serves as a wall and a disruptor for his team.

That said, some pure tank champions can build one or two (or sometimes no) tanky items and still deal tons of damage (See: Gragas, Zac). Some non-tanky/bruiser champions can build tank items and shred through everyone like butter without dying (See: Kog, Ekko, Yasuo).

Shaco went heavy armor pen one game, and melted most our tanks in a split second, myself included until he tried attacking me with no clone and got destroyed.

I don't think it is a tank meta. It is more of a "Tank items benefit those with high base damage" anything other than real tanks (other than making htem unkillable to a considerable extent or those with % hp dmg are still relavent b/c of the % hp dmg).

So rethink the wording, is it truly a tank metagame, or is it "high base dmg champs, % hp dmg champs, and busted keystones with tank build"?

%hp dmg isnt bad on it's own, but it can be troublesome on some champs.

NOBODY IS SAYING IT'S A TANK META THOUGH.

Hot damn the reading comprehension skills on Gameplay is literally zero.

You are literally repeating everything I've said in this thread.but trying to argue against me somehow when you're actually agreeing with me?

The words"tank" and "tanky" are different. One is completely a thing and one is half a thing. Tanky = Bruiser. Something being tanky means that it can take a hit, but it doesn't fall into the category of being a tank. There is nothing wrong with my wording here. Everyone in this thread seems to miss the "y" at the end of "tanky". Why?

You said "Metagame" and as i take it, and from what i have seen, that is a term that is not "clearly" defined.

It is used interchangeably.

The comprehension and wording skills of people posting on Gameplay is literally zero XD.

And also, I never tried to argue, simply as that you better rephrase what you said. As it is still confusing, as you know, Gameplay's writing is literally Zero.

So kudos to you mate.

We need more detail and context bro. All you gave was content, and as such the context is up for grabs.

So git gud at context. Like i helped you out, but it seems you didn't appreciate the clarification.

Correct

What is there to better phrase? it's there in plain black and white. How is that confusing at all?

So kudos to you mate.

What?

We need more detail and context bro. All you gave was content, and as such the context is up for grabs.

You really don't.

So git gud at context. Like i helped you out, but it seems you didn't appreciate the clarification.

It didn't need clarification. It was plain as day. "Why is everyone in such extreme denial about the tanky metagame right now?"

Tanky metagame.

Tanky

Metagame

What more do you need?

It is rather alarming that so many pro teams are switching to a 2 primary damage dealer style with 3 tanky utility champs.

You saw the last TSM game series?

Did you see how long some of those fights lasted?

Jeez.

I've had about enough of seeing this as a comp: Vladimir Gnar Gragas TahmKench Sivir .

It gets old and stale when every fight lasts for 40 seconds after the two adc's get blown up.

Edit: Oh yeah, also forgot to downvote since this is a Chickenwrap post and downvoting all CW posts is board law, doing so now, plz don't arrest me moderinos.
