So are Xayah and Rakan going to be balanced around being a duo lane?

...because as far as I can tell, their built-in synergy is fairly strong, with Xayah's W having increased effect and applying to Rakan's basic attacks as well, and Rakan's greatly increased range when using E on Xayah.

If they're balanced around being a fair matchup as a duo lane, then that would mean playing one without the other would result in them being relatively weak and underperforming, which puts limits on how they can be played. Just a concern I have.

EDIT: I don't understand or appreciate random downvotes without an answer to my question. I really hope that the difference of playing one without the other as opposed to playing as a duo isn't very significant, but that doesn't stop the concern from being there.

Yeah, this seems like a somewhat awkward half-solution to the thought of having two champions that work together.

Granted, doing the same thing as Cho'Gall would be a nightmare to try and figure out in the current draft system, so I don't know for sure what the right solution is. :|

Hopefully Riot knows what they are doing and doesn't end up with a nightmare of a champion balance problem...

Anyone that thinks either one can go somewhere else is stupid.

As for their teamwork synergy, they only get extremely minor boosts off each other. They will 100% work just fine without the other.

I mean. The buffs FEEL minor, but in practice the difference could end up being drastic. My biggest concern is Xayah's W, which is the only flat stat bonus of them.

He doesn't have enough damage in his kit to make her W broken. It goes off of HIS auto attacks which are extremely weak. The only thing he gets any real use out of is the movement speed boost.

also it stacks feathers doesn't it?

Shuyin1781 votes

No, only she throws the feathers that stay on the ground through her passive. He just has a small feather that shows the tiny extra damage his autos do.

ah well. that's not so bad.

Let's be honest, you can't say 100% fine when there are special and specific buffs that each one gets by playing with the other. The most you can say is 99% fine.

Hopefully, they can be played 99% fine without the other, because it'd be nice for solo players to be able to capitalize on each champ's playstyle without needing someone to play the other along with them just for a crutch that puts them at a fair win rate.

that probably won't be a problem for the first few weeks, people will flock to buy them and pick/ban them together.

They said mages can't play apc bot. They said Kalista using her passive on jungler is really bad (it still works)

You can do much in the game, even if it might be weaker, if you train on playing it where you want, you will shine more than someone who plays it occasionally on the "right" position.
