This just in: jungle-based carries must rely on on-hits
I'm not sure what Riot is thinking with Sated Devourer.
On one hand, having a transformation is the perfect way to reward farming/carry junglers, and having it gain 5 stacks on Dragon encourages team play rather than selfish farm. It seems great at first.
But the transformation itself is awkward. Its an item that nearly specifically caters to champions with multiple on-hits in their kit, which basically makes it Yi, Shyvana, Warwick and Udyr's wet dream while being just not-as-good on everyone else. It also really restricts build paths, basically telling the user:
"Hey man you want lifesteal? Oh then you want
and
only. Crit? Yeah,
is nice and all but man don't you want to maximize your attack speed and on-hit damage with
?"
Sated Devourer essentially increases the power of on-hits by 50%, making on-hit items insanely gold efficient and other damage items not so much, since lifesteal, crit, and actual raw AD don't have any synergy with Sated's proc.
I believe Sated Devourer should be a general jungle-based-carry item, not "on-hit wet dream".
