I just think of her ultimate like it causes machinery to malfunction.. perhaps it "hacks" and corrupts how certain things work, disabling the full effects of his time travel and keeping him where he is, he may recover the effects he's recieved during the rewind, but after that he gets ripped right back into her time realm.
