Do attack speed slows effect Illaio's tenticales?

It seems like the kind of thing that would be realistic in effecting them.

Get a frozen heart or Omen to slow the attack rate of them.

Also would making things like Nasus wither being on illaio slow down tentacles attack rate be an interesting way to add interaction and counter for to Illaio for non ranged immobile fighters?

No, because they don't really have an attack speed. They have a cast time like most abilities do, but attack speed slows don't really affect those.

I guess I'm just on one of those theory limbs.

She is kinda oppressive against a lot of melee and adding something like this might make it a little less overbearing if you were better able to contest her all in.

What do you mean when you say you want to reduce the attack rate of the tentacles? Their current attack rate is primarily defined by Illaoi's W casts. Do you intend for her tentacles to attack less often when she has vesseled you or when she has pulled your spirit, or do you intend to increase the skillshot delay on the tentacles?

If you're intending to increase the delay on the tentacles hitting, I have to object. I don't see any reason why your ability to dodge her skillshots should vary with whether or not you have an attack speed slow. Surely we can come up with nerfs that don't situationally alter the way her skillshots work. That's a pretty core thing on a kit to have change on a moment-to-moment basis. That seems like it is way more annoying for the Illaoi player than a nerf to her needs to be.

Things like ability ranges and cast times are pretty fundamental parts of a kit. Changing them on a moment-to-moment basis is something we should avoid unless the kit itself has a reason for the mechanics to work that way. There is just way too much potential for that to be incredibly unfun.

I don't see how this addresses that problem. Very few melees have access to attack speed slows outside of frozen heart, which they won't rush because they still have their own core items. By the time they would be purchasing it, they don't need to lane against her anymore. She remains oppressive for the part of the game when she has the highest ability to exploit that oppressiveness.

Aside from that, it just doesn't seem intuitive at all. Why are we handling the character with the lowest attack speed in the game with an attack speed slow? In terms of things that nobody playing against her would ever figure out on their own, that's pretty near the top.
