I think the question you should be asking is "why does Kalista get 550 autoattack range when she has that bullshit passive?"

Because Kalista's passive doesn't give her a proc on a double tap passive. Lucian's range got nerfed because he was an insane lane bully when he had 550 range

He's just barely above thresh's auto range and he's a support. They should have just nerfed his passive instead of nerfing his range. Maybe make it 25% of ad dmg or 50% cause this is seriously holding him back from being good again.

They did but that wasn't enough. Lucian got nerf after nerf before finally having his power dialed back. Lucian was insanely oppressive in lane and something needed to be done about it

Actually, they did nerf a bunch of stuff before they just nerfed his passive and it fixed him.

LOL this comparison is so bad idk where to begin. Let me just say this... Lucian has more up front burst. E aa Q aa will chunk. These are 2 completely different champions man. Its like asking why does kalista only hop a short distance but Tristana gets to fly 900 units.

His skillshots consist of an E that does almost no damage and an ult that's usually used for waveclear or sniping off enemies or getting them low enough to be afraid to chase you.

Plus, Kalista needs a lot of AS and her boots to effectively dodge skillshots.

True, but without boots the dashes are pitifully short. So she has to get the BotRK or Hurricane and boots before its effective so it takes like 15 minutes to dodge skillshots like that. She also only deals 90% damage unlike Lucian who deals 100%, so that makes up for the dashing.

Its not a bad comparison at all. The reason given for Lucian's range nerf from Riot themselves was because he was supposed to be "the mobile" adc. So in order for him to fulfill that fantasy he had to have his range nerfed to compensate for his mobility.

Now you have Kalista who is arguably more mobile than Lucian with a higher attack range, it doesn't seem fair that Lucian had his AA range reduced when first of all it wasn't the nerf to "bring him in line," and second people like Kalista and Vayne are just as mobile with higher attack ranges.

And they also nerfed his range because of how good his burst is. Which is another reason why Lucian and Graves will be getting reworks because they both do similar things.

kalista damage is also far weaker then early game lucian, though if you want to compare any champion to lucian you should be comparing graves who does everything he does but better
