@Repertoir... why karthus ulti has 160 sec cd at lvl 3?

he doesn't build cdr, it's useless on his Q and E, every karthus go straight AP+Mana. His ulti cooldown is and old garen ulti cd at lvl 1. Can i have your thought if riot can decrease the cooldown to 200/160/120? Karthus is a teamfight champion, he needs to have one of his tool very often to win them.

It is a global "hit all champions for damage" skill. Buffing the cooldown would easily lead to him snowballing if his team nearly kills someone but fails, since he can just ult to do so.

snowballing in late game?, at lvl 16?

Lowering the cooldown at rank 3 also means that the rank 2 cooldown would be reduced. There might be a rare case that can say otherwise.

Lowering the level 11 cooldown will still cause some addition to snowballing, as that is around mid game.

Your math logic is highly qualified for Mcdonalds instead of League, lol.

In my opinion:

Keep his ulti cooldown as it is, but have it go on a shorter cooldown if the channel is cancelled, similar to Teleport. That's all.

I think the high risk of losing his ult while casting it in close combat helps balance it.

Only buff Karthus needs is a very very slight E base damage buff. He's pretty much one of the most perfectly balanced champs in the game.

That's the only reason he doesn't see much play, because why pick a balanced champ when you could pick a broken one?

How about keeping the damage the same but slightly lowering the cost?

That also sounds good, normally I keep it toggled off in lane and just farm with my autoattacks to fully exploit its mana regain passive.

If it was a bit cheaper, I would be more likely to have it on in fights.

Yeah, I like the dynamics it creates around cs'ing for mana sustain.

I just don't like how many kill opportunities get taken away due to the heavy E cost. For example, having the opportunity to turn a 1v2 against the enemy mid+jungle, but you can't fight anymore because your E drained all of your mana.

It wouldn't be too drastic of a buff anyway, because late-game he often just suspends his e during his passive rather than actually going OoM in combat.
