What is this community hypocrisy bullshit on the boards?
Warning: This is a sensitive topic and the foul language used is simply meant as a method of emphasis. It is also meant to connect with players with a dialogue they are used to. I also wish you read the entirety of this post before judging as several points are here.
Warning 2: I do not wish to insult any players. If you are offended, then I apologize.
I guarantee 98% of this community are fucking metaslaves and followers. Nobody thinks for themselves and let's the OP overwrite their brains for them.
"He wrote a whole essay. Hm. Evidence. Makes sense. Huh, 7 upvotes? Must be a good idea. I can't get shit on if I support it and the majority who'll go with my side will defend me. Cool. Now the majority can dominate the minorities with ideas."
That's the mindset of some players and it's a dumb mentality.
Screw the support Nunu drama going around. You guys aren't even remotely thinking about both sides on the posts.
The issue is that a majority is shutting down posts that are being brought back again. The difference is the elo of the player and their fame on the boards. Here's an analogy.
Yes, it is true that a Challenger player can give MUCH better information than a Bronze player. However, a Challenger player may have godlike mechanics and mediocre game knowledge. A bronze player may have godlike game knowledge but shit-tier mechanics. This analogy is prevalent in League's community today and actually exists within itself.
So how does this connect to the boards?
People are judging posts based on one's elo, popularity, and impression but even an idiot can realize something a genius may never will. It's called diversity, differentiation, and ideas. A community is a bunch of unique individuals with many different ideas. That's how we flourish. People here are so blind and lazy to think about their actions on a minute-by-minute basis that it creates this aura of ignorance.
This applies in real life too. It's impossible to get rid of this but it is something to remind people of.
People are afraid of change and like to stay comfortable in their current state. E.G. A valedictorian may feel the educational system is perfect because they got accepted to Harvard and they worked for it. It may be true they worked for it but it's also true they may have had opportunities/advantages others didn't such as a higher financial status. Now, when someone of lower status talks of change with valid claims and the valedictorian comes to deny them, the majority will follow the valedictorian while ignoring and mitigating the other's thoughts.
We can apply this with the Nunu support case, Singed support case, the urf complaints, the infernal drake posts, the Dr Sona x Rubick influence drama, and much more.
I honestly feel sad for Riot sometimes. Yes, there are really stupidly ignorant actions they take but compared to how bad this community can be at times - I can't blame their actions.
Then people complain, Riot doesn't listen to our points or about how this point has already been posted. Then make a 180 when someone with influence posts or something they want happens.
Damn...
