s5 gallio jungle new meta

tank jungle mains are complaining that their champs don't have the sustain to survive in the jungle

gallio has great base damage, decent clear speed, great team fight potential, great sustain.

most junglers avoid raptors early game. meanwhile gallio uses them to heal

just sayin

I just tested him out. My biggest concerns:

-Too mana dependent -Jungle itemization doesn't lend itself well to an AP/MR tank

You can work around that by buying non-jungle items to compensate, but that means you're spending more gold than a jungler can usually afford. His ganks are fine, his sustain is good; he's just slow because of mana restrictions and itemization.

ive had similar problems but most of them can be worked around with little effort

the easiest way to adress the mana issue is:

4/21/5 masteries (cdr/mana) with mana regen seals (he doesnt really need the armor early game, put in armor quints if you must)

as for itemization, it hasnt been a problem. you can go chalice after your upped smite for super fast clear then finish your jungle item with magus....

or you can rush thornmail for manaless clear and lolworthy flash R W combos against AD heavy teams

Yeah, he may be able to clear, but his pre 6 banks are meh (usually the only thing a tank has going for them). He can undoubtedly clear well, but none of the enchantments really suit an MR tank. He doesn't really have a way to scale into late game well if the enemy DPS is all physical (ADC and AD Assassin mid and you're screwed for the rest of the match). His shield does have a cool interaction with the laser towers, and his team fight is pretty good, but he is pretty boring to play and VERY situational. I personally would pick him top or mid first any day. Right now, tanks aren't in a horrible spot, they just aren't as strong as a lot of other junglers that have become popular since preseason started.

tbh, from experience, mixed damage is the hardest to deal with on gallio. pure AD teams are super easy to build against because of his godlike thorn-mail synergy. it isnt required that you use your passive to your benifit, as his abilities do enough damage with no AP, and hes enough of a disrupter. that being said, abysmal is still a good buy vs any comp, especially if your team is magic damage heavy.

and ya. pre-6 ganks are meh. but he is a very effective counterganker, so keeping an eye on the enemy jungler will make them waste a ton of time.

Huh, I can't believe I never thought of how good a thorn mail would be on him... I only ever picked him up against AP comps.
