Is it worth building armor on Veigar vs AD comp?

I was facing Zed. Enemy also had Jinx and Xin. Is it worth building Tabis and Zhonya? Zed will have more lethality than I ever will have armor. So should I stick to magic pen and AP build?

first off, Veigar is a champion who has the luxury to be tankier than the average mage. Why?

Because of passive ap build up.

However you do have options where you don't need armor. Rod of ages is perfectly fine, Zhonyas is great, and if late game if you truley feel u need more armor, no one will flame you if you have ninja tabis and something else like omen.

Yes I know. My question is: is building tabis + Zhonya vs Zed a good idea if he will penetrate my armor any way? Does it give me noticable surivability (apart from Zhonya stasis of course)? Or building AP and magic pen to kill him before he can kill me a better option?

Ohhh so your basically asking if the armor stats are worth sacrificing ap stats. My bad.

Yes, but only if 4/5 people on the enemy team are AD and heavily auto attack reliant. All though you should always build zhonyas in a game against champions like Zed or Syndra, the active to allow you to dodge ultimates is simply god tier.

This one time our team was vs a tank veigar, and we thought it was funny and he seemed completely useless. 30 mins rolled around and he was one shotting us while tanking the entire team. As the other guy said, it's because his passive AP. You can build literally anything, and if you farm well enough, youll still be relevant. Building tabi / zhonyas is still gonna block a good chunk of damage. The lethality doesnt go through as much as people think. Just a tip, use hourglass as he ults you. Itll put his ult on CD and you wont get marked, so you wont take damage. Its more effective than using it before his mark goes off since chances are you probably took a good chunk of damage from him beforehand.
