Watch it. These guys ruin hundrets of games each and yet they are not punished. The Nunu guy does what Riot says is bannable: refuse to play assigned role, opens lane, make the game unplayable for his teammate but most of all they do not play to win, they ruin games on purpose multiple times. I would like to hear from Riot (which I don't expect to happen anyway) what justify this behavior, what makes them so special they are not banned yet? Or we gonna pretend they just have "bad game" and after a week or so of rioting on boards we will move on as we notice it does nothing?

@thread You realize that the singed and nunu guys were only ever punished because they were reported en masse? They didnt actually DO anything wrong and not playing the meta is, according to the letter, not a punishable offense. Riot more or less lied and fabricated reasons for those two punishments - pulling singular instances of anything and leaving their WRITTEN RULES to be changed at whim by rioters.

Theres nothing wrong with not playing to the macro meta. The problem comes when riot backs reports when people have done nothing wrong according to the law. Punishing people with no real reason is a HUGE problem.

If I recall correctly, the singed and nunu bans were revoked, and Riot's policies were changed for future similar occurrences.

If it did it doesnt matter - the damage was done; a lot of people think that riot doesnt even follow their own rules nowadays.

It wasn't that they didn't do anything wrong, they technically did considering they held their team's hostage forcing them in a playstyle they didn't sign up for. (1v2 bot lane) and there was evidence of them practically inting in some of their games, which intentional or not, was plain unfair for who played with them.

However the community misunderstood the scenario as "off meta playstyles being punished" when riot's reasoning was "lack of communicating the playstyle and overall causing a negative community influence and despite that, still going through".

Riot has since lifted the two player's bans, because the community felt it wasn't fair or right (but the people who were in the games did) and riot gave them the option of trying to communicate their playstyles and reason with their allies, rather then force the strategy on them against their will and throw as many games as they win by doing it. They changed their policy stating that trolling isn't fine, but off meta playstyles are as long as the team is communicated with the playstyle and that the intention is to win. It was barely a policy change, and more like clearer wording so players understand the reasoning, since riot at no point had a problem with off meta playstyles to begin with.

Mass reporting alone proves how toxic it was to play with them, and even winning games gave them the report. Nobody cares about nunu or singed support, they didn't like nunu or singed support playing the jungle role while the ADC gets poked by cait at the time. The replays "victums" provided didn't look fun to be involved in either.

How can you talk about someone playing off meta "holding their team hostage" and in the same breath say mass reporting them shows how toxic it is? You understand the irony there... right? Youre saying its okay for people to hold accounts hostage but its not okay for people to play what they want. Youre saying it okay to punish people who are different despite them not doing anything wrong.

Let me put that situation in other words; Theres a town of android users and an apple store moves in. The town boycots the apple store and eventually due to protests the android-sponsored police intervene and shut down the store by force despite the store not breaking any rules, laws, or even doing anything wrong. Is that okay to you?

They're forcing players to deal with their playstyle. Its literally dodge or deal with their strategy. They're telling their team "this is my playstyle" and regardless of whether the team agrees or disagrees with it, they have to play through it in the same sense they're forced to play through a ghost/cleanse adc.

Here's a situation: You queue up for ranked and you're ADC. Your support shows up and they hover singed smite/ghost. You ask them "can you not" and they do it and unless you dodge you're in a 1v2 lane the rest of the game. That's a hostage situation where you're forced in an extreme uncomfortable position and there's nothing you can say to them that will make the situation better besides "be tilt proof and play it out" or simply dodge or hope for something else to dodge, in the end lp is at stake. This is what riot wants to prevent, not the playstyle itself, but the situation of being forced in the playstyle as a third party.

What riot wants is unique playstyles, but communicated and worked out with the team, not tilting the team so they have nothing to do but keyboard warrior and report them after the game (which is always the case and why they got so much attention, because people don't want to play with them again simply put.). If riot ever implemented a vote /kick system in champ select for trolls, these two players may never get to do their strategy because nobody wants to play with it, few agree with what they're actually doing.

wot? That's not even practical because why would anybody even care for something like that lol

this probably belongs in player behavior and moderation or general discussion you may want to move it there so it does not get deleted after being seen by everyone.

Playing offmeta is not punishable. It is only punished when it gets mass-reported or becomes bad publicity due to some streamer trash using it for trolling.

ThePikol1 votes

Yeah, I'm sure these guys don't get reported by thier teammates

MagicFlyingLlama1 votes

As someone who plays offmeta constantly, they do.

Even if you carry, they report you for taking CS while they are dead. Any skapegoat works when you are a 0/12 yasuo.

I have nothing against off meta picks, but when u are assigned top but you take smite and steal every camp from your jungler, while top lane is open there has to be a punishment

In b4 'b-but this is o-only the one guy, the system is f-flawless besides that!'

I absolutely love how nobody talks about the posted video because that's a huge shite coming from Rito. Instead, you praise them for changing their failed policies after banning off meta picks. This community is amazing.

Well they fell for the "deep neural network machine learning AI" meme and you can just fool it by getting a good score while being a troll lol

Machine learning is trash (for many, if not most, use cases people use it for)
