@Riot - The Current Ranking System and why it needs an update
So recently trying to climb and having no luck for a few reasons I've found out. Yes there are my fair share of games where I just do terrible. but the game is inherently designed to fuck you over if you hit bad luck in key points!
Firstly the MMR system and the visable LP system. great thematic and better than jsut (congrats you have 2000 elo weeeeeeeee) But there's an issue with having two numbers. Firstly when you're promotion guarded and you hit a streak of bad luck your lp doesn't drop which is nice but your mmr DOES do if that happens enough times you eventually get to a point where youre stuck going +14/-22 no matter how much you win and how much your mmr raises your lp raises with it. so you're stuck with with low mmr.
Secondly the MMR is a person to person ranking that changes based on 9 other random people. If the game was a team game or you just have 5 dynamic buddies to use then sure its all well and good. but too many games are lost to people who deserve much higher than they are simply because "im feeding GG" Im not saying a loss should ever net you LP but your LP gains and losses should be a little more based on your PERSONAL performance in the game if the MMR system is going to treat you as an individual and not "Bad luck 3 intent feeders in a row, lose -X- MMR get good"
