Is an alistar or chogath scarier to you?

Their ults are complete opposites from eachother so of course it'd be Cho'Gath. I think most players also don't really like to be eaten by Cho'Gath.

It depends more on how they're optimized.

While both are very similar (sustain, two hard CC skills, tanky), Cho'Gath has passive AP scaling on-hit damage as well as an AP scaling true damage nuke. Alistar is the tankier of the two with removal of CC and 70% damage reduction. However, Cho's CC is easy to dodge. If Alistar built full AP and had a DFG, I'd say you're going to be either dead or missing a very large chunk of health because his engage is rock solid.

So, it depends. How did they build, and can Cho get close?

If you're looking for a champion to buy, I think you'll like either or. They're both not very common in the current meta, but they are impressively strong right now. I play Alistar quite a lot, since the middle of season 4 he has been my go-to champion. He can roam like hell, and force some really good engages. Cho is extremely good right now, because the current meta is centered around objective pressure. His 1k true damage nuke to monsters is invaluable for securing objectives at any point in the game.

Cho'Gath. That crap is scary if you don't have anyone to help you. In a 1v1 situation, his crowd control is extremely strong and he deals just enough damage majority of the time to kill you with an ultimate. He is also innately more tanky than other Tanks (except for an ulted Alistar and maybe Maokai) by a good bit. Alistar is scary if he has friends that are also focusing you. His crowd control is more reliable and he has a heal. You can't really fight back either due to his ultimate.

Cho'gath. Builds tanky ap and still can kill half a team.

probably the Cho'gath he has harder hitting CC mixed with his execution ult well still maintaining solid tankyness

Cho'gath. Alistar is a mobile wall that won't die, and in my opinion, the most dangerous thing about him is who he knocks you into. Cho'gath removes the middle man.
