New Death Rocket Damage: Excuse me??!!??!

Okay, I don't even play Jinx, and even I can tell this was fucked up. Her rocket damage was already pretty weak if you were above half health, and if she doesn't kill you with her rocket, then there's no secondary effect to give her team an edge.

There's also the point that this is a giant rocket hitting you in the face. It shouldn't do 50 points of damage at max rank. That's pathetic! That's like a toy rocket. Which, I don't directly have problems with that aesthetic, but it doesn't meet the balance of the game.

It just shows you Riot's habit of balancing, because this nerf shows up just after Graves. With Graves, you can see them going: "Carefully, carefully! Just a little bit, just a little bit of a tweak, and that should bring out the subtly of this character; just a little bit of a change. . .!" And then they get to Jinx and they go "Ah, fuck it! Just force it in there; who even cares! No, you shut the fuck up, Leory, we can always change it later if we have to. That's it, I'm getting lunch!"

Goddamn it, Riot. . .

You really don't know how jinx works, do you?

Perhaps if you actually played Jinx you'd have something valid to contribute. ... Probably not, but hey, we're here for theorycrafting.

It only does that damage at point blank range. It still scales up to its full damage after a second and its max damage wasn't changed.

It still seems like an awfully low amount of damage for any ult to deal. It is still an explosive weapon, not a rock she's hurling.

  1. It is suppose to be an execute

  2. The hitbox is huge and it is suppose to be a long range damage dealer for finishing off a running enemy or sniping that top laner who is 100 health recalling at their tower. Rockets are for traveling long distances so it makes sense that it does more damage after traveling farther.

  3. It doesn't make much sense that you are talking about how something will not be balanced when you haven't played jinx and haven't played her with the changes. When I play jinx I very rarely point blank ult anyone, I usually use it just to finish someone off who made it back behind their tower and I can no longer chase them. I don't think these changes will affect her playstyle very much.

Damage scaling should work like that for all globals, lets get ez next to have 50 at point blank range. And Ashe too, but also make it so her stun only lasts for 0.1 sec.

Reading is hard folks...

You need to learn to read bro, they nerfed its point blank standing right next to her damage. The actual max damage is completely unchanged.

it was meant to be a GLOBAL RANGE EXECUTE

not a simple nuke

i get that this stuff hurts her, and that riot is crazy, but this skill was meant to be useless up close

Hey man, I hear you. Personally I love Jinx, and she's one of my top adc's (I liked her since release, not because she's perceived to be OP or anything).

As long as her rocket travels for about a second, it should be fine. You shouldn't be using it close-range, that's more Graves and Vayne's thing to get up close for their ultimates. Jinx is a close-range duelist with other adc's, but a long range executioner. They're preserving her identity by toning down something that shouldn't be a strength. As an avid Jinx player, I'm glad.
