Is it ok to not protect your ADC if they're feeding
So, assuming your ADC is like 0/9 and has one item built while the Kai'Sa JG has 10 kills, does a shit ton of damage and is a good player, is it okay to focus your resources on the JG instead?

Focus on supporting the person who has the best chance of carrying the game
That's the thing, I get flamed by everyone on my team for not staying with the ADC even after the guy just starts face checking bushes/trying to 2v4.
Just make sure your ADC doesn't ever get a kill so they don't reset their gold value
Yeah, I generally say "Oops sorry for ks" :l But after a while it kinda gets obvious when I start igniting on people who would've died anyways. But a win is a win :D
I am a bad adc player and a worse support. Once the first tower on bottom falls...either yours or opponents, i would support the player with the best chance of winning for you. As an adc thats losing, i would shift to pure defense and/or go along with the support to help the best player so your team goes forward with a carry with two supports.
Just did that. ADC got pissed and ran it down mid because I didn't feel like dying to save him.

Then it's on him. You will lose those games either way. When I am the one feeding, I want the support to do whatever will give the team a chance to win. It might be helping me catch up, or it might be be giving someone else the means to take over.
It's frustrating to lose your support, but the best counter to a fed enemy is to get a teammate fed.
Protect your carries. If you need to protect your 0/9 adc at that time, protect them, if you need to protect your 10/0 character protect them. If they're both in danger of dying assess the situation and protect the one with the highest chance of survival. Sometimes the 10/0 will survive because they're ahead and the 0/9 may need some assistance to not die and maybe get a kill.
In short, protect the teammate that needs it, if both need it though protect the more valuable one unless they're doing fine on their own.
If you're forced to protect only one, be smart. However, if you have the option to protect both, protect both and don't tunnel vision only one carry.
Have you heard of the expression "Don't shit in the hand that feeds you"? I only stop helping an ally wholesale (or mark them as low-priority) if they are being a shitlord, particularly to me. Otherwise I am buffing an healing them until the bitter end unless there's someone else nearby I can better rely on to complete whatever task.
