Lack of manaless CDR items

Whilst I'm personally in favour of the removal of DFG (removing 'blow you up' low counterplay etc etc), there was one think that I didn't consider about it's removal, that I also haven't seen anywhere else yet either.

It's not the lack of a 3rd 120AP item for most mages, but that it offered one of the very few viable cooldown reduction items on manaless champions.

Playing as a support, or even a tank, I have no problem finding that happy 40% CDR balance, but when playing the likes of Katarina, Akali, Kennan, Vladimir, (you could even include AP shen/rummble whilst you're at it) it is incredibly hard to find any viable CDR items that fit into my build.

The main CDR items that most mages get are either, unholy grail or morellonomicon; both of which give you a big 20% chunk of CDR but are also build for their mana regeneration stats.

So if you want CDR with out wasting half the gold value of an item, you are left to chose from a pitiful list of 10% CDR items, most of which are defensive, and the ones that aren't are, let's be honest, just bad items that you see in perhaps 1 in 50 games. If you are a manaless AP mage, the only non defensive options are;

item 3115 Good item on the right champion, however if you are not autoattack reliant and you want burst over sustained damage, not viable item 3152 The only just about viable item, should be situational as to wither you want sustain, not part of a core offensive build. (less good than gunblade) item 3023 Pretty bad active, especially considering how easy wards are to get now, and useless in lane item 3060 Much more of a defensive item with a terrible active. When was the last time you saw this item in game?

There you are, the only 4 AP + CDR items that don't have a mana component. I wouldn't mind if you could just get one item with 20% CDR as a good defensive item, but you can't do that either. I probably wouldn't mind incorporating one of these items into a build, but for just a measly 10% reduction, it's not worth it.

Personally, what I'd like to see is manaless mages on par with the others and have a 20% CDR, 60/80AP without a mana regeneration part.

TL;DR, There are no decent CDR items for manaless champions, the only two CDR items you see mages build are both 20% and mana regenerative.

Edit: and another thing considering frozen heart is the main CDR item for tanks (only defensive one to give you 20%), this makes if very difficult for the likes of shyvanna, shen, zac, mundo, garen to get much CDR. I can see that it should be hard to get for champions like zed, riven, yasuo etc, but tanks are already played very little, and atm you'd need like 3/4 different 10% to get close to the cap, half of which probably won't really fit into your build.

You already get to spam any ability any time without any care whatsoever for resources. You don't also need better itemization than you have now.

If it's that important, you can get 40% just through runes or a combination or runes and masteries and cdr boots.

Wasn't this posted some time back?

My take on it was that perhaps Riot didn't intend for manaless champions to get easy CDR, or they would be OP. Btw WotA is pretty good on Vlad I thought?

If you are desperate for CDR, flat runes + mastery + Lucidity = 35% CDR max, scaling runes + mastery + Lucidity = 50% CDR max (yes I know max is 40%).

Didn't read everything, but I just had a game with the new Mordekaiser and realized the same. No good CDR items for manaless champs (WotA is good for him, but that's 10 % CDR).
