Sion Support

Ok everyone, I like playing Sion but I will find myself in support sometimes. I've played him there a few times and I didn't do bad and I know I'm not alone in his support role.

So to those who play Sion support, please tell me what you rank first and max first.

Sion main here (who mostly plays him as top/jungle, but I do support sometimes).

Max E first, as it provides a more better & efficient slows/pokes onto enemies. I do not recommend maxing Q, as this would sometimes leads to pushing minion waves faster if you were to direct your Q onto enemy bots who happens to stand near minions around. Maxing W would seem a little selfish, but if your lane partner doesn't really need any more amount of CC, then I guess it should still be okay.

But if it were me, I'd always max E first.

I was debating E or W. Ty

Playing Sion support forfeits his most overpower component. Sure he has good CC, and mild harass, but you also have similar champions like Trundle Poppy who aren't suppose to be played support, but are anyway. I'd warn anyone off of playing Sion support because you cannot stack the W's passive anywhere near efficiently.

Haven't faced one that gave me trouble as a support main (then again I play a lot of Janna who's a big fuck you to that kind of champion, wherever they lane).

It can work with his CC as an aggressive kill lane support, plus he makes good use of Relic Shield I suppose, however I don't see this as being optimal as he scales pretty hard with farm and items (2 things that the support role will deprive him of), so if his lane does not win hard, he will have significantly less to offer to his team than other supports such as Morgana, Nami, Thresh, etc.

I still start W first regardless of position... Never know when 10 health might just save your life ehh? And then usually Q and then E. I would certainly argue that heavy aggression in the first few levels is a good idea. Aggressively push with the W and Relic Shield for 2nd level and then try to land a nice Q... I frequently run Exhaust and Ignite to try and cheese out a first blood pre-level 3... My level 4 point usually goes into W and my level 5 point usually goes into Q... Sometimes I do the opposite of that depending on how hard we are winning/how good they are about breaking the shield...

All that being said I usually max W first beyond level 6 as you tend to take a lot of damage as supp just because your against 2 laners but I do still max Q over W if the lane is going exceptionally well...

I still never max E...
