Why don't you surrender? 4v5 and down by 7.2k gold at 20 minutes

AlienPrimate··24 votes·1,216 views

My team was down in gold all game. We were always on our side of the map defending. The enemy got every baron and dragon. The enemy Yasuo was 10/6/0 with almost double the ADC's cs. No one on my team ever considered surrendering. We were defending inhibitors at 20 minutes in but we all stayed positive. After we aced them while they had baron, I was able to tank outer, inner, and inhib towers in middle lane to kill all of them without minions and we got inhibitor off of it. A few minutes later we aced them again as they were trying to finish the game and I ran down without minions and tanked the nexus towers while Zed and MF killed them. The enemy respawned so I ulted and we killed the nexus while we were invulnerable. This is why I almost never surrender and when I say I've come back from worse, this is the kind of game I'm referring to.

Honestly about 60% of winning a game is thinking positively, I've had games that were a lot close than yours and we lose simply because one or two people outright give up and feed. It's frustrating.

not just that but its also 99% of the enjoyment. ive had garbage games where we got DESTROYED in every possible way that were incredibly fun because we were there to do just that, have fun. ive also had games where we were absolutely dominating and it really wasnt much fun because of players being toxic or something. positivity is probably the most important aspect of enjoying AND succeeding not just in league but in literally everything

sweet dude a normal game at gold 5 mmr with an exhaust ignite cass.

Meanwhile I have people holding me hostage in unwinnable games in diamond. People need to value their time better.

Never give up you can win any game if you and your team don't just sit there afk

Yeah, if only other people thought like this. I mean, you can just say, "it's a loss from the start" and do your best. If you lose, who cares, it was a loss already. If you win, you learned to play better.

Not to take away from that amazing story, but do you like the Tear on new Taric? I only played him one and just got Frozen Heart but I wonder if Tear would be a better idea.

AlienPrimate1 votes

Tear is just a personal preference. I can usually get it on first back and it is a huge help early game. You won't have frozen heart until about 25 minutes or more usually meaning you have mana problems for that long. Also, the AP from archangel's staff puts Taric's heal to 600-700 with 4 stacks late game. You basically have a Soraka ult every 3 seconds with it as long as you can hit something.

use windskeepers blessing, and ur better off getting redemption and mik crucible

AlienPrimate2 votes

I had Windspeaker's blessing. I think redemption is just a bad item on Taric because you can't save someone with it before your ult activates. Archangel staff is by far the best mana item in the game and Taric's only weakness is mana. It gives him 1580 mana. As for Mikhael's, Ardent Censer is better in every possible way because you can permanently give your entire team the buff.

Here is a game I had against another Taric. I did my build with tear and idol first items and he did the standard redemption/locket build. I absolutely destroyed him because he was always oom and couldn't do anything.

After hundreds of games on Taric, I have tried about every build imaginable on him. By far my favorite one is to rush item 3070 item 3114 . Depending on my team, finish item 3504 and then get item 2049 or save censer for later If my team doesn't benefit from it that much. If the enemy is mostly AD I then get item 3109 . If they are mostly AP I get item 3401 . I then get the other one after that and finally finish my build with item 3003 unless my team absolutely needs the attack speed slow from item 3110 against an enemy like Vayne or Master Yi.

i use redemption due to the active but with windskeepers plus redemption plus mikhails ur at 40% heal and shield bonus and that wokrs on everything taric has. mikhails i just use for the increase in shield heal bonus and mana regen

Well Played to you all! It's one of the best feelings when you turn a bad game around. Had one like that a while back with my duo buddy. I got fed as Darius every other lane was feeding, but since he was on Ivern he enabled my boosted self to run/dash at them and we turned it around.

Yeah now try doing it in High elo and not against random sighstone lee sin players

AlienPrimate3 votes

69% of people are lower rank than me. To a bronze player, gold is high elo. I could care less about how a game goes in diamond 1 and challenger because I will never be there. Giving up when you are behind seems to be a universal thing with rank not mattering. I don't even know how many times I have been going along killing the enemy and suddenly my team 4-0 surrenders without me even noticing the surrender notice. This game was nice because not one person even mentioned anything about surrendering or about it being 4v5. I would rather spend 40 minutes fighting hard to stay alive just hoping for ace when I can run it down mid and tank all the towers than surrender every time something goes wrong. That won't change even if I do some day make it to diamond. It is a personality trait not dependent on what rank you are. If you were bronze 5 you would surrender just as often as you do now.

I think part of the reason I think this way is because my 14 years of experience wrestling. In wrestling, you can be losing 14-0 and win with a pin. All it takes is one mistake by your opponent to throw them on their back and win. At 15-0 the ref stops the match for what is called a tech fall. I still remember a match when I was a freshman against a senior who was ranked something like 5th in the state. I was losing with a score of 13-2 and ended up winning with a pin with 13 seconds left of the match.

For those of you with knowledge about wrestling, he had a wizor on me and we were both just kind of sitting their in a stale mate catching our breath for 10 seconds or so. Right before the ref reset the match, I swung my left arm around hitting him in the face with my forearm and went straight into a headlock after the pancake. I actually think I dazed him a little with my arm because he just layed flat without putting up any kind of fight.

Division does matter

I could win 4vs5 at that elo in 55% games...

As long as my allies dont decide to quit alongside the afker

AlienPrimate1 votes

If you can win then why do so many people just give up was kind of my point.

Poske1 votes

I can win in bronze without hands 1vs5

People give up because the meta is ultra snowbally

A good player wont let you win 4VS5 at all.............

You could make an argument a good player ll come back... sadly its not how it works

So yeah at my elo 4VS5 = 15 min surr (Well ussualy ends up being 20 min surr because there are few retards..)

BakedLotion2 votes

1)It was a normal, chances are they weren't trying their hardest to end. 2) Your team didn't want to surrender. That's a different story. If 3/5 of your team wants out of the game, completely gave up, and you're holding them hostage, you're not going to win because they're not going to want to try. 3)Fuck people that never surrender.

AlienPrimate2 votes

Yes, it was worth it. That was the most fun I have had playing league in a month or more. I love games like that. Stomp fests are boring to me and surrenders just take all the fun out of the game. The only time you will ever see me surrender is if the score is something like 20-1 and more than one person on the enemy team has the kills. If it is just one person getting all the kills, all you have to do is lock them down with cc and then they lose their entire gold advantage.

Salson1 votes

You know, it's not 4vs5 if the enemy team has Lee Sin.

khorney1 votes

there lies ur answer.u aced them multiple times when it was a 4v5

iDemacia1 votes

Sounds more like they threw the game than anything you guys did since you were losing so hard all game. Throws do not happen every game so when things are that far down depending on a few things like what our team comp is and if it's fun or not I'll usually want to surrender and the 1 or 2 people forcing everyone to stay are not making it any more fun.

So yes in some cases like this you do come back and win (I came back one time as Vayne to go like 32-8 when they were at our Nexus taunting and bming us lol) but not always and most of the time I'd rather just move on lest I risk myself becoming salty.

AlienPrimate1 votes

I wouldn't call outscaling the enemy and then running down without minions because we had a Taric who can tank towers indefinitely a throw. If I was a squishy support, we would have never had a chance because we never had minions pushed up due to turtling the entire game. We beat them in a couple perfectly executed team fights that we would have lost if MF and I hadn't timed our ults perfectly. When they had Baron, MF hit Vel, Varus, and Cas for their entire duration of her ult and my ult activated at the same time that Yasuo ulted us, negating his damage completely. That isn't a throw. That is getting beat. A throw is when you try to do Baron or Dragon just to have the enemy ace you in the pit or you tower dive and everyone dies.

iDemacia1 votes

A throw is when they have an overwhelming advantage (4v5) and still lose. Which they did. Did you just come here to brag about winning a 4v5? Cause the enemy team threw pretty hard or you would not have won.

Everyone on their team went negative in k-d except the Yasuo. Not to mention their blue smite sightstone building Lee Sin. These people were clearly not very good (Vel'Koz still with mejais despite dying a lot and no stacks, sightstone Lee, 1-12 cass). If you were up against any sort of competent team I'm 99% sure you would have lost.

AlienPrimate2 votes

Ok man. My team is just garbage and their team was worse garbage. Nobody outside of diamond+ actually wins any games. It is just the enemy loses them.

I was always under the impression that a throw is when you make a really bad call and your team loses because of it.

iDemacia1 votes

I'm not saying you guys are garbage on the contrary you guys played well. But that's not what caused you to win the game. You were at a huge disadvantage with it being a 4v5. My point is that with that disadvantage on your side the win was more because the enemy was bad than because you guys played well (though you did play well).

Just had this match the other day. The power of having two people not surrender can be huge. I never understand why people don't just play out the game. What are you going to gain by surrendering? 2 minutes? Firstly I see it as a form of bm, if the other team is close to winning but you just give up 1 min before the game is likely over anyway. Secondly, it's a terrible habit to give up whenever you're slightly behind. And finally, games like these happen. So many people are below the rank they could be just because of mindset. #neversurrender
