Where did all this Anivia hate come from?

I mean it's not like her E>R has changed since ever. I mean sure they gave her more power with her increasing ult and a faster q than before. But her E>R has always been the same since the dawn of time. Just wondering why now are all these threads popping up calling the mobs to her door

(And yes, I am a filthy level 7 Anivia main. But I'm so used to her flying out of the radar range for my entire time of league, I'm just wondering why now do people think she's unfun/broken/stupid)

I mean she's always had a fairly low play rate, and ban rate. She starts to fall off at plat+ and is a rare site nowadays in the Pro scene. She's been nerfed really quite hard in the past to where people almost thought she was useless, and she was designed for counterplay against burst mages in the first place. Here's a link to her entire patch history: http://lol.gamepedia.com/Anivia_-_The_Cryophoenix#Patch_History

I've just published a board post here: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/jtUIq7Oj-anivia-feedback-from-a-seasoned-anivia-main -- which go over my thoughts on the proposed changes. I'd really appreciate it if you took a look.

In short: I think the changes to her Q/W+E are fair, and I am actually in favor of publishing those changes. However, I 100% think that the changes to her R+E/R/E are completely absurd and unreasonable, these changes essentially increase her burst window by 3 Seconds, which is ridiculous since she's a mid lane champion where she fights against champions with much shorter, and much stronger burst windows to begin with.

A counter proposition to an E/R change on Anivia would be to "Ice Champions when her Glacial Storm/R is at half size, or after 1.5 seconds to do full damage on the E. Essentially increasing her burst window by 1.5 seconds from where it is now, instead of 3. Which is completely fair in my opinion.

The people slightly above her got nerfed so it's her turn now.

Same as always, basically.

Then jhin does the exact same thing a second later

Sona x Rubick1 votes

i don't see jhin doing 1k5 damage in 0.01 second

Sirsir2 votes

He does it to the lucian in the next clip

Sona x Rubick1 votes

nop, that's not 0.01 seconds, he did 500 damage with one hit, then his 4th hit crit for 1k5 due to the finisher passive while lucian was 1/2

and jhin is not even close to be balanced right now with how flat armor pene is busted

I've never not hated Anivia.

Lots of small Anivia changes over a long time and meta shifts has resulted in Anivia at the top of the pack in terms of power. Damage creep has resulted in her having a more aggressive playstyle, especially in lane, and lots of players have simply realized that Anivia's damage is, quite simply, insane, and also very reliable post-6.

not hate, but pesonally i never liked her ability to r + e for double damage. its such easy reliable burst that its straight up cheesy.

i also think it holds her back at the same time and prevents her to get any meaningful buffs to her base movement speed, her q or somewhere else in her kit. she has a couple of terrible weak points.

for the records im fine with her getting double damage on her e when she hits a q. just not on her ult.

More like took many of us to realize Anivia has been rising in power over the years. I mean, all those little "buffs" and nerfs on her enemies add up.

With the mage bias, how can people who have been aware justify that Anivia is OP without getting downvoted to hell?

her R-E combo was always stupid, just masked because assassins were good and some other picks were stronger.
