@Riot My thoughts going into preseason and some changes I would like to see to the Item system

into a AP "triforce" of sorts. drastically lower the ability power on the lichbane passive. As of right now usually champs that want Nashor also want LichBane (or at least wouldnt mind it) so why not combine the two?

Make right click AP a thing pls . as of right now there are simply too many items some along with the mandatory to have decent build diversity imo. in other words its FAR TOO HARD to fit these two items into a build and still retain viability or effectiveness. Not to mention with the recent reworking of
now more than ever is it hard to validate Nashor tooth as a pickup if its the on-hit you want (the 20% CDR is pretty much the one reason for getting it but then again CDR is so easy to come by these days if you really care about it...)

. one of these two items need to be removed due to a overlap in design. Gunblade I do have problems (the way its currently balanced is a near MANDATORY insanely effecient power spike used by AP champions given AD ratios
which basically is a one-time doubling down on damage but then again one could argue that thats a flaw in the designs and balancing themselves not the item. the problem with Deaths Dance imo is that its a lifesteal item trying to squeeze into a ALREADY crowded role of items (Bloodthirster as is was already losing playtime and viability with the onset of BoRK and Merc+ lifesteal from runes. Could you not just add CDR to Gunblade and literally remove this item all-together? I dont even think the bleed -damage delay is a significant or important enough aspect as it seems to hop around from item to item.
- there NEEDS to be a easier way to achieve the completed form. great item but the sheer amount of time it takes most champs to "activate it" is a massive turn off.
Lethality items for EVERYBODY. Lethality currently is treated as like a melee only assassin/fighter item but I think thats a narrow view. all Lethality really is is a "SPELLS MATTER"(AP) for PHYSICAL DAMAGE dealers. it shouldnt be treated and balanced around as a melee only thing. there are a lot of Marksmen that do indeed play more like CASTERS thans traditional crit marksmen.

PERSONAL GRIPE: the "Tic-Tac-Toe" Arms race of invalidation. Items that arent fun and dont offer player expression. Items that are simply a "chore"

these are items that I dont think really do the game any favors buy existing in the bigger picture which I think should always be increasing the levels of_ NET FUN_ happening in the game. theyre invented as counter measures for some champs or items that might have particularly overwhelming effects (like Mundo R going crazy with the healing) but I feel like all these items do sometimes is DRASTICALLY invalidate certain champs. like a champion who has both
AND
has effectively invalidated both key parts of
's kit and now the Malz player rolls his eyes. the thought put into these purchases is pretty pseudo-intellectual in my experience like its not really that big of a "test of skill" to press tab, see soraka and buy a exec calling instead of that B.F Sword. There NEEDS to be a iniative that works on removing or reworking these kind of items and instead offering OTHER powerful effects to combat the opposition thats not so black and white while also maybe introducing other methods (such as CAPPING THE AMOUNT OF LIFESTEAL SOMEBODY CAN HAVE) to try and balance out particularly strong effects. For instance if lifesteal makes it to where tanks can no longer have a hope of killing a marksmen then maybe invent a "breaking point" item for tanks that gives them increasing damage when fighting the same target for extended periods. its a spitball but you get the point. You dont need to create COUNTER items. you just have to create items that OUTPACE one another while also being a tad more heavy handed with already available effects to make sure they dont reach auto-win points (200% Lifesteal or something).
the point is items like this are a CHORE TO BUILD and send BOTH PLAYERS TO THE GROAN ZONE. NOBODY LIKES TO PAY ITEM TAXES aND NOBODY LIKES TO HAVE THIER ENTIRE KIT INVALIDATED BY A SINGLE PURCHASE. THIS PATTERN EXISTING DOES MORE HARM THAN GOOD.
NEW EXAMPLE PASSIVES-
: "Each time you are struck by a basic attack gain X armor for Y seconds. at Max stacks you are immune to slow effects and gain 15%ms towards enemy"
: when off cooldown "dodge" the next basic attack made against you. Using movement abilities resets this effect.
: "Each time you are struck by a magic damage generate a spell-only shield equal to 15% of the spells damage for 2s"
" put a greyed hp "BLOCK" onto opponents HP bar equal to 50% of the phys damage dealt. "blocked" Health cannot be healed or recovered until out of combat for 4s. (in other words you effectively lower the opponents maximum health with each blow).
this among other things is what I would like to see happen this preseason. I honestly DREAD yet ANOTHER season of the same old same old items plagueing the gameplay. please please PLSEASE give us the same kind of crazy expression and combinations that TFT players get to experience.
