I absolutely hate this nonsense. I'm a top lane main who knows how to get by when behind and camped with no jungle help, and every single time I try to play another role I get matched with a top laner who starts pinging for help at level 2. For goodness sake it's supposed to be a 1v1 lane, learn your role or change lanes.

Quite honestly, if you need a gank to win lane there is something wrong. You really should only need gank in top if the other jungler is being heavy at top. But even then, play passive and safe and if their jungler is living top, that means your jungler can live bot and mid, where it is more needed in the current meta.

In complete honesty, i found last season that i won over 90% of games where i was losing top Lane and just played super passive and waited for ganks. Meanwhile i only won about 40% of games where i had loads of pressure top and was trying to get solo kills (but often ended up getting camped).

Unless i could 1v2, or at least get a kill in the 1v2, going for the 1v1 in the top Lane was just a mistake. Much better to just try to outtrade them but largely freeze the wave and try to keep it closer to my tower and always hold my gap closer as an escape, never engage with it unless I'm getting a gank.

Just seems to be the lane. An independent 1v1 just isn't top Lane anymore.

Why do people over-complicate things like this? Ganks are necessary, always. Never a "Need or don't need". If an opportunity to aid both yourself and your teammate(s) arises, why question it? You a masochist? Do you want the additional difficulty? You potentially gain something from a successful gank, even if you don't kill the player. In those circumstances, you enable the opportunity for that lane to farm, to push, to grow.

It's a team game. If I'm playing nunu or maokai (lanes that are easy to gank for) and the enemy is a rumble or mordekaiser (immobile) and is constantly shoving and you don't gank, you're wasting your teammates champion's strengths and ignoring the enemy's weaknesses.
