MMR Sucks :(

After you get stuck in elo hell and get bad MMR, it's insanely difficult to climb out. Happened to me once before when I was climbing in Gold and to be honest, I only escaped because of a lucky 7 game winstreak. When you are receiving about 16-17 LP/win and losing 22-24 LP/loss, it's pretty difficult to even climb. I just won 3 games in a row but lost nearly all that LP after a single loss. How exactly am I supposed to climb like this? I know you guys will likely say things like 'play better' or 'win more' but that's not exactly helpful if you lose all that you gained after a single defeat - especially if it was because of a bad match-up. Even if you broke out of that tilt streak you were on, the low MMR you currently have will just drag you back in. I was just thinking the current system isn't all that great and it's a little too harsh.

MMR, if it is a thing should be eliminated in general.... if your in bronze, be in bronze..... yea the skill levels are verring but you will eventualy make it out if you deserve to be..... at the end of the day its either win or lose.... how u played doesnt matter as long as your doing what you need to when u need to..... there is a ranking system in place, why have a hidden one as well? use the ranking system and let lp be decided by the difference in rank as a cumulative....... example a team full of s1(team 1) vs a team of 4 s1 and an s2(team 2), team 1 can gain 19lp or lose 21lp, and team 2 can do the opposite, gain 21, or lose 19. 20 seems like a good base but the values would have to be adjusted, something like a total of 1-3 rank difference being 1 point, 4-6 2 points, ect.

I wouldn't want MMR to be deleted per se, just want the system to be a little more forgiving and less harsh. It's not like I hate the system overall because it does have its uses but maybe tone down the scale?

honestly why dont they just use mmr instead of the ranking system then? seems like having a double system in play is a little redundant, and like you said yourself, harsh. especially as team players will suffer the most, there is nothing worse than having teams that are uncoordinated, but the mmr system penalizes/rewards based on stats, which in a lot of cases are accurate, but almost just as many are wrong due to lack of teamwork(speaking from oldschool support perspective). a double system doesnt seem like it needs to be in place, let the ranking do the work, and it will stop high mmr people from getting shafted by beating low mmr players and being stuck in "bronze hell" it will totally level the playing feild. with the double system rank means less, and you have to deal with a "hidden value" making the ranking system kinda a lie.

i understand its to balance some games, but if they let ranking play out right. that should do it by itself once they let the mmr stuff shift out if they where to eliminate it... it would take a little time, but the ranking system would work, its the challenger tier that im unaware of how it would work correcty at the moment, im not currently aware of how its set up, and gaining/losing points would be a little tricky. but as for trying to climb teirs, the mmr system blows, it seems to be more in place for challenger.

The ranking is really to smooth out the fluctuations that can happen with your MMR. A small win streak can move you up or down several ranks.
