BUILD USEFUL THINGS!

I'm tired of watching teams struggle against Vayne, Nasus and Volibear because they refuse to build anything other than the build guides suggest.

item 3123 item 3123 item 3123 item 3123 item 3123 item 3123

NO ONE builds Executioner's calling. NO ONE. Not a soul. Except me. I'll build it on Braum or Zoe if I have to. If there's a Nasus, Voli, Yi, or an ADC with huge amounts of lifesteal, I ALWAYS build it, I don't care who I'm playing. Why? Because I know for a fact that NO ONE ELSE will. This is such an underrated item it's painful. I literally just got out of a game where building this on Zoe turned a losing game into a win BY ITSELF, because the two champs who were walking over us were getting a ton of sustain out of self-heals.

The best thing any player from Bronze to high Gold can learn to improve is adapt, adapt, adapt. Do not be bogged down in convention if it isn't going so well for you in a given game. Ever wonder why your foolproof build is somehow leading you to lose every 1v1 against Nasus? It's because your build IS NOT WORKING in that particular game. Change it! Find the fulcrum that's keeping things in your opponent's favor, then get the item that rams it in the other direction. Sometimes one little change is all it takes.

PLEASE, PEOPLE. BUY AN EXECUTIONER'S CALLING ONCE IN A WHILE.

how about improving at the game instead of taking out your frustration on boards?

Goodness, I appear to have hit a nerve in that other thread. Apologies for that, I assure you it wasn't the intention.

Anyway, your advice is fine, but it wouldn't apply in this case. I'm already doing what needs to be done. I'm buying the items that help the team win fights. "Getting good" has nothing to do with my complaint here. I don't care if I'm Challenger, an enemy team with a fed Voli and Nasus isn't something I can fight on my own. The complaint I have isn't that I lose against these champions 1v1, I rarely do. It's that my team loses to them, and it could be remedied if the ADC would buy a single item.

Lol, You never use flash. How am I suppose to take you serious about buying Excs during the right situations when you don't use the hands down mandatory sum spell. I could understand not bringing flash on Hec, Olaf, or Rammus (when you would take the other mobilty spell, Ghost) but on any squishy, you NEED it.

Dam, you got a Ryalis on Panth Both LW items on Ornn I have no idea what you were trying on Zoe It appears you only upgrade the Blue support item, not the Green or Yellow. We got TP/Cleanse Rammus Support full zeal Attack Speed AD Elise

Sometimes (AD Elise, recent Zoe) I'm trying things because of our team comp. In the case of Elise, I picked Elise after calls were made, but I misread one of the calls and didn't realize I was going ADC. So I went AD Elise. Usually, I'm supporting. Even when I'm not supporting. I don't have the skills nor the drive to carry, so when I play, I build what helps the team in the long term. For example, Rylais on Panth because his W scales well with AP (as does his ult), but more importantly, it allows his Q to slow fleeing enemies for my team to finish off. It slows everyone in my ult's radius when I come down, allowing the team to burst down whoever they please. It makes it harder to get out of my E, giving my team a better chance of finishing what it started.

Rammus was a case of... it was a close game, we needed an edge, I had Teleport. "I know! I'll take attack speed and use my W to backdoor!" It actually worked, interestingly enough. Again, I do what needs to be done for the team. My score, my build, my reputation, whatever. Not important. My concern is winning my team the game. Whatever small way I can contribute to that, I do it.

Ok, now you've peaked my interest. Why don't you run the optimal sum spells? Why put yourself at disadvantages? Why not use real supports?

Ok, now you've peaked my interest. Why don't you run the optimal sum spells? Why put yourself at disadvantages? Why not use real supports?

  • I don't run the optimal spells because I like thrill and competition. Having Flash feels like a crutch. I like to measure my moves and know when I go in that I'm committing, and I'd better damn well be ready for anything.
  • I don't see it as disadvantages so much as versatility at the cost of guaranteed power. I don't have the overwhelming curbstompability of the optimal builds, but I'm able to respond to a greater variety of situations than most supports. item 3504 item 3143 item 3116 item 3068 item 3033 on Sona (and this is an extreme example, mind) doesn't give me the huge one-shot burst, sure, but that's not why I'm here. I'm here to help my team win, and every one of these items facilitates my team making a good play.
  • Sometimes I do, but really, define "real supports". To me, a support is anyone who can help their ADC get fat. Some supports do it through burst damage and CC that set up kills (Cassiopeia). Some do it by taking punishment and getting in the enemy's face when fights start, keeping the heat off their ADC (Sejuani). Some do it by zoning so hard the enemy has no choice but to sit back and let my ADC farm (Nasus). It's all about team composition and what method I feel like playing in that particular game.

You don't see the thrill in flashing the Thresh hook to hit a Naut hook on the enemy ADC so your AD can get the 1st blood because you think it's more intense to not bring Flash? The spell is literally the strongest sum in the game? Flash isn't just a safety net, it's a offensive spell that allows you to make money moves.

You don't think your at a disadvantage? When I see someone without flash that should have it. I roam or gank that lane over and over again because they have no way to actually stop the snowball. Instead of getting 1st blood or getting to safety, they can't. The amount of times Flash as saved my life or got me a kill is far greater then the next sum spell. Flash is by far the best sum spell and to not have it handicaps you.

You can look at it as a challenges you but if you actually want to get good and progress in the game, you need to understand you need to use the tools at your disposal.

Buidling items that are un optimal on your champion may seem like they help, but they usually hurt more then they help. Tank Zoe, while prolly not awful, she offers you no real peel or engage. Sure her E is useful but without her own damage behind it, it doesn't mean as much as it should.

Real supports? Someone who can actually protect their ADC or do something useful to get AD through lane. Building actual support items to give your carry shields or damage reduction if generally more beneficial then you being able to be slightly tankier. How does Ardent Censor on Tryn Support actually help a AD?

I'd be pissed to have a Tryn support, when I could have a Ali, Janna, Nami, Lulu, Sona, Karma, TK, Leo, Thresh, Blitz, or Bard who also build like a support to further augment me as the threat. When I get a Braum who builds the green support all the way up with Knights and Locket, I'm happy AF. I could care less if they get Randuins or Thornmails or how much damage they can do, all I care in a support is how the augment around me and truely become my support.

You building Mortal reminder on Sona doesn't help me (or really anyone) as much as a Ardent, Mikalis, Redemption, Locket, or Athenes. You not bringing flash makes you pretty much a liability and your support picks and builds don't help me or the other carries at all. I as the ADC should be building Mortal Reminder or as a Mage Morellos. I just want my support to keep me alive while I dish out damage. I can't really see why I would ever want Tyrn as my support.

Like I say in another post somewhere on the forums, I absolutely respect that choice for players skilled enough to pull it off. I'm not one of those. All my skill is defensive.

And Cleanse has saved me far more times than Flash ever did, so there you go. If you came to my lane to gank, you know what I'd do? Farm under turret and wait for you to get impatient. Dive me under turret, I'll ram into it, shield myself, and slow you before you can get out.

Then again, I guess Flash will give you your "Get Out Of The Hole My Poor Decision Just Dug Free" card.

You can look at it as a challenges you but if you actually want to get good and progress in the game, you need to understand you need to use the tools at your disposal.

Exactly my point. By not running Flash, I use all sorts of different combinations of summoners that most people don't even realize exist. Did you know you can take an enemy team off-guard by Teleporting into the middle of a fight, then Cleansing out of their guaranteed CC before you jump on them and turn it into an ace?

It's not about the tank in the case of a Zoe or Sona building "unoptimal", it's about the utility. I build items that facilitate my team's success. I'm not going to stomp, but then I'm probably not going to anyway, I don't think like a carry. You could put the most broken offense items in the world on me and I won't carry. "Then why take Zoe...?" Because Zoe has a versatile CC maneuver with her E and her W brings a great deal of utility by turning the other team's actives on them. You haven't lived until you've chained three Exhausts together and handed your carry three kills.

Real supports? Someone who can actually protect their ADC or do something useful to get AD through lane. Building actual support items to give your carry shields or damage reduction if generally more beneficial then you being able to be slightly tankier. How does Ardent Censor on Tryn Support actually help a AD?

Ardent Censer on Tryndamere lets him get in the enemy's face for a longer period of time thanks to his insane self-heal. Players at low Bronze are conditioned to fear Tryndamere and either run away or focus him when he runs at them. The longer they're doing either, the longer my carry has to get away when low, free farm or whittle their carry down. I take support Tyrndamere when I have a carry who wants to be aggressive. With his sustain, I can safely draw fire off of him when the fights start or the ganks come. Maybe I die 1v3. Hell, maybe i go 0/8/2 in the early game. But if my ADC is 2/0/0, it's still better for the team. I'm getting my passive gold, but the ADC needs to be in lane as much as possible. Better I die than him.

You must be unaware of what Tryndamere's W does. Nothing swings a fight like giving your ADC a big chunk of AD over the opponent and soaking all the damage meant for him.

I as the ADC should be building Mortal Reminder or as a Mage Morellos. I just want my support to keep me alive while I dish out damage.

Yes, you should be. But my carry doesn't, so I do it instead. When you have certain champions on the field (Jax, Voli, Nasus, Yi, Sona, Akali, Soraka, Hecarim, Garen, the list goes on), not having Mortal Reminder means losing at least 70% of the time. I ask my ADC to build it. If he doesn't, I do it, because we need it to win those teamfights. I don't care how little damage I'm doing with it, the point is not allowing them to outsustain us. If my ADC is ripping off a quarter of their life bar per hit and they're healing a third per hit, I will absolutely take Mortal Reminder, because it's the difference between victory and defeat.

I can't really see why I would ever want Tyrn as my support.

That's something I'm afraid you'll have to correct yourself. I can't do that for you.

Why do you think you're not skill enough to pull off plays like that? How do you get better if you don't try?

And Cleanse has saved me far more times than Flash ever did, so there you go. If you came to my lane to gank, you know what I'd do? Farm under turret and wait for you to get impatient. Dive me under turret, I'll ram into it, shield myself, and slow you before you can get out.

Look, Cleanse has saved my life too, running it with Flash, has allowed me to do many things to save my ass. Cleanse is also a "get out of the hole my poor decision just dug free: card as well, still on a support, it's not as effective because you should be prioritizing different things and flash also for big plays to happen. Trading a Support flash for AD/Mid flash more times then not will always be worth.

My point was not running Flash for a challenge is foolish, If flash wasn't the way it was 90% of players wouldn't run it 100% of the time. Putting yourself at a disadvantage is hindering your progression and your teams chances at success, as you are only as strong as your weakest link.

I did know you could tP into a fight, I've been watching Top Laners do it for years. Most people don't just stop to wait for the guy TPing in the middle of a team fight so that cleanse is pretty redundant in this scenario and you could again use that flash to gain ground to land your own CC or just flat out dodge the CC your trying to cleanse.

Ardent would help you heal yourself I guess but the actual reason people build Ardent goes to waste on Tryn, you playing a split pusher as a support are still building for yourself and not your carries like most supports should, while you are right his W would be useful, it's not enough to justify using him in the support role, at all. You could use someone like Trundle who would far greater at everything Tryn is trying to do, and while his AD reduction isn't AoE, it is on a shorter CD and is a 100% chance slow while giving himself the AD bonus to do more damage while being tanky AF, and he also brings more CC in his E and the ability to take tank stats from a champion and making himself even bigger. He can also use the Ardent you build on Tryn more successful using both the Guardian and Font of Life runes to help augment your ADC.

You going 0/8/2 with your AD going 2/0/0 is never worth. You've given up a additional 6 kills to the enemy (assuming most of it is going to the other bot lane) basically digging your own AD into a hole he shouldn't be in because you're feeding on a useless support. You ever wonder why you don't see other people playing Tryn support? It isn't because it's a hidden sleeper that no one has thought of, it's because it sucks.

You must be unaware of what Tryndamere's W does. Nothing swings a fight like giving your ADC a big chunk of AD over the opponent and soaking all the damage meant for him.

I'm fully aware of what his kit does, and yes your right if you were in the top lane, I would be inclined to agree with you, but you clearly have no idea what it's like to be a ADC or Mid laner with a actual support who can keep there divers and assassins off of me. Tryn can't do that, he's also a awful teamfighting champion, which is why he's regarded as a split pusher.

Yes, you should be. But my carry doesn't, so I do it instead. While I like this idea and I won't actually ever complain about the idea of you taking Excs, I do understand your ADCs are monkeys in low bronze, but you aren't doing them any favors with your champ pool and builds. Again feel free to build Excs, but you don't need Mortal Reminder until last item, you should be using the rest of your items to actually get items to do your role successfully.

The healing most of those champs (outside of raka) actually heal with in a teamfight where you would be attacking them to get the GW debuff on them isn't worth changing your build drastically. Most of those champs Yi, Sona, Akali, Raka can be CC'd and/or bursted out before the healing can do much of anything or in the case of Voli, Darius, Garan, and Nasas can just be kited to all hell if you help your AD/Mid do it. Peeling and Protecting should be most of your focus as a support, with the occasional engaging.

The only champions I feel Excs is a must rush is Vlad, Swain, Mundo, Rhaast Kayn, Raka, Xin and WW. Also keep in mind AP champs can get Morellos and Tanks can get Bramble, while neither are as good as Excs because it's easier to proc Excs, you should build what is optimal on your champion and position.

That's something I'm afraid you'll have to correct yourself. I can't do that for you.

After almost 5 years of playing this game, I know for a 100% fact, I would never want a Tryn support. I think this is actually something you need to correct yourself on.

I'd also like to go back and touch on why you never upgrade the Relic or Coin support lines? You don't even build them at the start of the game. Do you realize how much money you lose out on by not buying them? Again, hindering yourself and your team.

While true, I'd say a lot of them aren't kids lol. I'll be 29 soon enough.

I'd also like to point out that you needed to go lower with your flame, us Gold/Plat "kids" know to buy GW when it's needed. I'd recommend going south to the Brz/Silver players :).
