It really sucks to be an assassin main in the current state of League Of Legends

I have mained the assassin class since season 4 when I started picking up Talon then adding champs alike ie. Fizz Katarina and Zed. I have mostly one tricked Talon but, I always saw my Fizz being comparable to my Talon. Now though with the current state of the game I feel Talon has no place in the game. I was close to Diamond 5 last season ending in Plat 3 with a 62% winrate on Talon. This season though with the assassin rework on top of meta junglers running over everybody I feel assassins have no place. Why would I play Talon when I could play Vi and gap close 3 times the length and one shot the adc while staying alive. Why would I play Fizz when I could play Hecraim and body bomb the enemy team and run over the adc at the same time. I lose games that I used to be able to carry, maybe I just am not adapting well to the unreliable and slow nature of assassinations now but, I find myself losing games more often than not to the fed ass jungler running my team over. I build damage the junglers build tank and yet I can't 1v1 them, I can't assassinate them but, they can assassinate my adc or anybody squishy on my team. Vi is no different from an assassin except for the fact that she has armor shred and built in stats that allow her to build tank and Hecraim is a just a snowball god, while assassins are not anymore especially with flat armor pen nerfs.

Try playing supports then, you will see what it means to "suck to be main", when you have everything but creeps oneshotting your ADC, without being able to do anything about it.

Yeah. As a mage main I was looking forward to the assassin update, they looked really cool and i wanted to learn a few. Then the update came and now there is no reason to play one when every class does the assassins job better than they can

I agree. I think the problem, as you also described, is from the power that junglers have now. Riot has addressed this in their Dev State of the Game review released earlier this week. They stated that they think junglers are ganking too often and getting too far ahead of laners.

The second part of this problem is stemming from juggernaut patch, I believe. Ever since then Riot seems to have this stance that tanks must do damage in order to be focused to soak up the damage they're meant to soak up. This is all fine and dandy, and I think tanks should have some level of threat. However, it is to the point now that any tank can do as much damage (if not more) than any assassin and most AP carries. All the while, they're building tank and don't die easily, either.

It's a tricky situation. I think you should try off meta things such as a tanky bruiser mid lane (Malphite, J4, Vi, Maokai) and see how it pans out. Malphite and J4 especially feel much like an assassin, and if the amount of play goes down for assassins, Riot is likely to review why that is and we'd see buffs to them.

The last thing I think is important to remember is it's extremely difficult to manage power of assassins. Historically, Zed/Talon/Fizz/etc were able to snowball off a simple cs lead and item purchase or 1 single kill. Then they were able to roam bot and 1 shot adc with little to no effort. Those were the glory days for me. :) However, that is also unfair and needs to be managed. I think Riot hit us hard with all the past buffs that have been creeping up on us with tanks and we're just now starting to see the effects of it because of the jungle buff. I think in the coming patches you'll feel some power come back as junglers are nerfed.

I feel ya. I may be a filthy Rengar main with almost 100K mastery points with him, but even with the jungle being as strong as it is, I get the feeling I'm able to do that well thanks to the jungle being strong. Often times it feels as if tanks and fighters can do my job better and without nearly as much risk, and Rengar arguably has more burst than he's ever had before. Simply put, it feels as if there is no point to even have an assassin anymore when you could just play a tank, do only a little less damage and be tanky af. It also doesn't help when the community as a whole loathes us, and constantly wants assassins to be nerfed into the ground.

Are you joking the adc can’t do anything in this meta because assassin don’t need to do anything but can somehow one shot that is fair right

I seen ADC complaints, and also assassin's too. It's a never ending cicle.
