If the ADC is so scared of you that they bought two defensive items, they're no longer a priority target. Defending your (presumably much higher damage now) ADC has become a higher priority.

a qss builds into mercurial which gives her damage as well. and idk about focusing supports or the tanky top as a mid laner.

You don't need death mark to kill someone, it just makes it faceroll easy.

Youmu's +Bork helps you duel without your ult.

If your enemy team alreadyy has bought 2 item (Value ~4.5k+ gold) just tosurvive a single spell from you, the rest of your team should get significantly ahead because of this.

(Ever played an ADC with early QSS? The enemy ADC will just wreck you as a response.)

Ya cause both Zhonya's and Mercurial dont have highly competitive offensive stats on top of their defensive utility.

The Bronze is strong with this one.

Merucial costs extra money. we were talking about QSS and Brutalizer weren't we? But I guess you have to change the assumptions to somehow make a broken champ look balanced.

Redmercy(A REALLY good zed player) has stated what to do in a video for things like this, I suggest you check him out!

It's basically, build a youmuu's, infinity edge and last whisper, Zed is super good at farming and if you're decent, you'll have enough for all three or more by the time the ADC gets to his QSS build area. Insane crits and damage, even when you aren't ulting. If they ruin your ult you'll be able to chunk them down with basics and Q's alone.

The Zed says "you're welcome" to his team for forcing the adc to build an extra defensive item, and let's his adc carry?

All kidding aside, if an adc builds qss AND zhonya's, you should win. And zed can just target the next squishiest champion then; ideally their apc, but optionally their support, or a non tank top/jungle. He also builds ad so his auto attacks still hurt after he uses his cooldowns, just add basic damage to the adc if you can. Let your teammates clean up since their (the enemy) damage is so reduced.

As an fyi I read a patch note saying zhonya's will no longer remove death mark (or whatever it does, it won't counter zed anymore). Not sure if that will make it to live.

With respect to the new question: you can use your ultimate for mobility (extra shadow teleports) and focus on either dueling (split pushing) or taking out these targets without your ultimate and saving your ultimate for repositioning and baiting an untimely zhonya's.

He can enjoy that the ADC lost a significant amount of midgame DPS for buying an item that grants 0 resitances against his poke. Afterwards he can 1 HKO the enemy jungler for a free Drake - or simply push through the mid turrets like butter thanks to having strong AoE & being ressourcless.

OR he simply abuses the fact that his ultimate has a much lower cooldown thank Zhonya's and stop giving a fk about it.

Seriously, the game might as well be 4v5 at that point. Zed shouldnt bother to team fight at all and should splitpush the rest of the game.

bro im a melee and they have exhaust and a team, its not easy. also the second i ulti on the adc she will just either flash away or use her/his cc with the qss in hand. life is hard for a melee assassin.

Good thing you have 2 different teleports, great ms, huge hitbox on heavy hitting spells, and flash yourself.

If you ult in and they immediately QSS and flash, ult out again. Congrats, you just made them use several high cooldown spells and abilities because you pressed R once.

My mistake, I forgot Zed is supposed to be able to just insta-gib any target with no chance of counterplay. I just pointed out that WITHOUT his ult at all, Zed still 100-0s squishy targets easily. Which is kinda what the OP asked.

He doesn't have a 50% banrate for no reason.

I'm 90% certain if theylet deathmark specifically go through Zhonyas the entire game would consist on picking or banning Zed/AD assassin.

People are under the misconception that Zed needs his ult to kill. While this is true against tanky targets or other assassins (statistically, Zed's ult only makes his ratios on par with other assassin's, so without his ult, the other champion will out damage Zed), Zed can still dish some serious damage against the ADC or mid and still assassinate them if he were to use every one of his actives.

Zed will still be able to kill people, just not as fast as before or as efficiently as other assassins.
