Karma's passive should have an interaction with her E

For a long time people complained that Karma's passive felt like it could have just been a component under her R slot, the more recent tuning to increased CD reduction points as she levels up made her passive seem more worthwhile as her unique passive I want to just say that I feel if there was a way that her E could be implemented to also reduce her Mantra's cooldown would really solidify her unique passive and her play style

so what if she gained cooldown for enemies attacking an ally that is shielded by her e? This would only proc once per shield, so like, if she shields herself or an ally and they are attacked while the shield is active, Karma gets one second off her Mantra, but does not get additional CD for being attacked more than once.

Im totally for this and accept if they would reduce the overall cooldown that is given to her passive if it means that she could proc her passive from her E.

Reasons why I feel like this would be a good addition:

  1. Karmas greatest strength is in well placed decisions for her mantra use, giving her more decisions to lower her cooldown by using her abilities in meaningful ways will reward her to give her mantra more uses. (its just good Karma for using your abilities right ;)
  2. Mantra E still feels a little lackluster because it will place Mantra on the longest cooldown, vs RQ and RW which will automatically proc her passive to reduce the cooldown. If karma could shield the team and receive cooldown for each shield/ally that was attacked, she would have more incentive to actually use RE if players know they won't have to wait so long to have the next mantra up.
  3. It rewards her gameplay objectives and strengthens her identity, by rewarding her for using shields to actually shield damage, and not solely for the movement speed, she can have a more prominent role as a shielder, and the aspect of duality, using defensive ability like a shield actually lowers her cooldown for mantra for a possibly offensive use.

Once again I want to reiterate that this wouldn't just be a straight buff to Karma because I'm sure some of the numbers in her passive would be tweaked, probably making the CD granted from other sources weaker since there would be an additional ability to obtain cooldown from... but hey if this doesn't make karma broken then maybe they don't have to change her very much at all haha

Her new passive could simple just be read as:

"Karma's abilities grant her additional cooldown to Mantra in various ways. Auto attacks grant X cooldown to Mantra when attacking enemy champions."

And then under the abilities themselves they could mention specifically how they lower cooldown.

Q/RQ: lowers mantra cooldown by X for each enemy champion damaged W/RW: Lowers mantra cooldown by X for each tick of damage dealt, total X cooldown in total if tether isn't broken E/RE: Each time a shielded ally is attacked, mantra's cooldown is reduced by X, this effect can only proc once per shield.

Cooldown values could either be made to scale with level as they are now, or with points in abilities

just wanted to toss up some ideas to really solidify Karmas style of lowering her R cooldown. Let me know what y'all think :)

I like where you're going with it. Not having a component on E that works with her passive just makes a kit that feels unfinished. But I think she should be rewarded a bit more.

In fact, since she does better being aggressive, I'd suggest making it a buff instead. Basically, if she shields an ally, any basic attacks or spells they inflict on enemy champions proc the same amount of cooldown onto her passive. It gives her a lot more credence to her kit.

Lulu grants a shield that adds bonus DPS to her ally.

Sona has a heal/shield combo.

Janna grants bonus Attack Damage with her shield.

Why not give Karma something to her shield that adds something unique to her gameplay?

RE does have some use since it is good for starting a chase or trying to get out of a bad situation.

However if her E reduced the mantra cooldown 1 second for every attack on her while it is on her and half a second on allies that have her shield on that might be within reason as a buff to the ability making RE more worth using in other situations then just running around.
