Questions for high elo players
I want a challenge, I want to improve, and I want to test my own skill level as well as how I am able to work with my teams. Normal games aren't a good test of skill and I never take them seriously but I think I could climb higher than gold if i tried, though I've basically been spamming Leona games to climb and I know that won't work in high elo, so I'm well aware that I need to improve. There are a lot of things about high level play that have always confused me, if you don't mind answering some of these questions I think it would help
- Why do Azir players (and some other mids) take barrier instead of ignite?
- When should I be taking barrier instead of ignite? Would ignite not give me a bigger advantage in lane?
- Why do high elo players not kill the turrets, but instead leave them for the minions to kill?
- Where is the ideal spot to pink ward baron and dragon pit? With the changes to wards, if I pink too far close to the entrance of the pit I'm not able to spot wards put over the wall by the enemy team
- Is it safer to proxy farm in high elo? I've seen a lot of people do it and most of the time the jungler leaves them alone, whereas in my elo the jungler and top laner would spend 5 minutes chasing the singed around.
- Are there any champs that you would say don't work in high elo? Or some that work really well in low elo that fall off really hard the more you climb?
- Should I ever be doing double jungle in soloq?
These are just things I've noticed from spectating the games on the front page of the client and watching high elo streamers, but if there are any other changes you don't mind explaining to me I would definitely be interested in hearing them. I want to try to climb ranked higher this season instead of just rushing to gold literal days before the deadline just to get the skin.
