What's wrong with Kalista?

Is there anything wrong with Kalista? Yes, okay, the first thing you're going to tell me is that she has an infini-dash. But why is that a problem? From what I understand she really doesn't have anything besides the dash that really stands out. She has poor damage, a run-of-the-mill execute on her E, a ghost thingy that scouts and gives the enemy gold, and an ultimate that acts as a get-out-of-jail-free card for someone that isn't Kalista.

Basically what I see here is that she's annoying. Her damage is OK. But it isn't hyper-carry damage or anything. To me it's just an irritating champion.

I see Kalista as a bottom lane Teemo. Am I wrong? Is she somehow overpowered (with her 47% winrate)?

You got it backwards. She does good damage, good execute, free wards so she doesn't have to waste money, and an ult that keeps the other team from being able to get kills.

Her winrate is low because so many crappy players play her. There is a reason she has a high ban rate in pro play.

Kalista is overpowered because she can render bruisers almost entirely irrelevant. When her passive is stronger than a Jarvan ULT there is a problem. A passive should not trump an ult.

Well, not all bruisers, I've seen Riven catch up, but she basically has 1 short of infinite dashes.

Riven isn't a normal bruiser. She's a hybrid. Bruisers like extended combat. Riven is an assassin bruiser hybrid.

Kalista is probably the most hand-holding ADC I've ever played. Like, you typically need to practice orb-walking in order to get easy dashes with most carries, but Kalista has that mechanic built into her kit. Then she has pretty much everything you could ask for with an ADC in the rest of her kit, a long range poke, a free ward, AND stacking mechanics.

I wonder whether Certainly T considers the other champions that already exist in the game, and how their dynamics work when churning this stuff out...

I dont blame Kalista, personally. I blame the person that created her. I'm sorry, but fun kits and cool designs/concepts dont make a good, balanced champ.
