Why do people say thresh is OP?

if its because of his grab wouldnt blitzcrank be way more broken?

The short version. Overall utility and unique plays that only thresh can pull off.

For example. Thresh can hook dragon/baron, drop lantern. Overall let him and one other champion with no jump to get in the pit for possible engage or sneaking that objective. Or try Thresh with Kalista, Thesh drop lantern, Kalista ult. Thresh shoot him away from pursuers/gankers. Kalista catch the lantern. And suddenly you are 2 screens away from danger. (There are some other unique combination for thesh, too. But this is one of the more memorable and uncountable one.)

Yup. It's just that his kit has so much MORE in it that other supports. Most supports tend to either be strong in one area, or okay in two. Thresh is good in many and with very little weakness.

.......his Flay, his Ult, His lantern..... Flay basically interrupts ANY dash. His Lantern is the only skill in game that allows his team mate immediate safety. His ult is basically a snare with the amount of slow it provides.

No, even if it's hook, he has the decision to JUMP to his target or just pull him.

That's why THresh is OP

Every champ should have something that defines them. For Thresh, its his lantern. If he were a balanced champ, his whole gameplay would have revolved around that. Instead, he also has a flay. So he has TWO things that define him, Why take a support that has one trick, when you can take a support that has two?
