Quite sad how Riot is giving up on some Champions

###"Kalista, along with Ryze and Azir, is a champ we're not working on for a while. That reflects that we feel we've sunk too much time into those three champs over the years and that the amount of further time needed now would create a bigger overall improvement to the game if we spent it on other champs. Realize that sucks if you play or want to play one of those three, but do feel it's the right overall call."

Kalista Ryze Azir

I get that you want to work on something that you are sure will not be proven to be a waste of a time, but isn't the definition of a rework that the character is remade a new, while maintaining minor parts that reflect upon their previous playstyle? Most of these champions reworks that you gave, barely changed anything.

Why not go through some abilities that are most problematic, and rework them completely on how they function or give a complete different ability if it simply doesn't work regardless of what numbers that exist, or if it proves to be problematic in both SoloQ and Pro Play.

Even some of the people who main these champions are willing to accept to get a brand new rework (meaning an Aatrox sized rework) if it meant that their champion was in a better state.

Didn't you specifically complain and whine about that kind of thing when it was happening to your champion?

I think op is more interested in complaining than the actual issue, so that's kinda a null factor. Especially considering riot said "we put a ton of work into these guys on reworks and shit, and it isn't working so we're backing off" and op is just like "y no rework?"

Not just a regular rework, a complete one. A champion re-imagined in a sense, i'm not saying make them a priority.

Also this isn't a complaint post, it's a suggestion regarding the idea of giving each of the mentioned champions a full rework (meaning most of their abilities would be replaced with something else, or a them being re-imagined in a sense).

As with the other poster, I figured you for the guy who spent a week spamming threads about his hate for the aatrox rework. Mb, naming op op.

The thing is, riot is very very tentative to shift a champion completely away from their identity. I think galio is the furthest movement they've done (unless you count old sion but that was a selective case afaik). The problem with these 3 is that their core identity is very difficult to make healthy or balanced around all elos, and the work put into them has had marginal success. None are in a game breaking spot so it's not a priority, and if they put the amount of work needed to rework these 3 into several other champs they'd have better results, in their opinion. Its all about the return on investment, and those 3 are difficult to justify the work on.

Aatrox isn't my champion, my champion (Varus) hasn't even been reworked once. He only received minor changes over the time, which most of them proved to not have much of an effect stat wise apart from the recent one (W Active) which improved his gameplay power.

Varus has been considered one of the worst marksman (stat-wise) for a long time, at which point he had 42% Win-Rate...

His current one is 46.37%, the lowest in the entire bot lane.

My bad, guess it was the other darkin guy.

That's because this meta is weak to the standard ADC, there was a time when he was considered the best ADC in the game like what, 2 seasons ago when the lethality meta started, still don't think he should have gotten nerfed for it though.

There's always more than one isn't there lul

Funny though, he's only ever good when there's an item he can abuse (Lethality as we know, Previous Rageblade + Ardent Censer Meta, AP + Previous Rageblade). Without such items, he is usually very weak or balanced some might say.

I don't know what to think of him anymore, I just have too many mixed thoughts to every part of his kit.

I think his kit can work, but in the current meta, it just doesn't click.

because they've already dedicated too much time to them and they don't get any special rights to hog the dev team's attention
