Out of Curiosity, Why Do Promos Exist?

Seems like it would just be easier to get to 100LP and be promoted, fall below 0 and get demoted. It's really annoying when you're in your promos and get 2 afks in the same game and in the next game get 2 people who can't speak English and 1 who just won't speak. (What just happened to me, plz.)

Promos seem to make people just feel bad.

Promos are there to actually see if you should be going up and yes it is annoying to get AFKs and Trolls but they rarely happen and the chances of those happening on both sides is pretty similar. Whatever you get on your team has the almost the same amount of chance of being on the enemy team. So instead of complain just remember That you'll be facing with an Enemy who will have the problems you face every now and then too.

The person who didn't speak probably is climing better than you tbh. Speaking can tilt people even if you didn't mean anything by it.

The gist of it should be that you have to prove you are able to compete at that level (the next level).

What should be happening is: you are fighting amongst your own class (the bronzes, silvers, golds,...) until you reach the promos. Once you reach them you will be put against a team of the next class to see if you are able to compete on a high enough level to fight with them.

I don't know the specifics of this, if you are fighting the lowest of the next class or the mid-high range, but if this is what happens it's probably the lowest tier of the next class.

Nobody knows. They should not exist, all they do is create lp entropy and RNG-based tears.
