Crash Dodge Timer

So I had accepted a match in Normal Draft Mode, accepted the AFK Check, but got disconnected and crashed from the client before the timer on the AFK Check ended. When I got back around three-four minutes later, I had a dodge queue timer. How does this work? I don't dodge a lot, so it was only 5 minutes, but even still it was kind of confusing and irritating at the same time for getting a timer for what I saw as no reason. The only thing I could speculate is that it still joined me into the lobby even though I was logged out of the game, and I dodged that way, due to not actually being online. Can somebody clarify this for me?
