How to Play More Aggressively?

So a common thing I get told from the people I often party with, is that I don't play that aggressively, even if I'm playing an aggressive champion, such as Ahri, Lucian, Pantheon, etc, and that I specifically play too passively. And fpr the most part, I disagree with them, as I feel I don't play extremely passive when I'm playing these kinds of champions, although I do notice that the way I play is more significantly passive than other players I've seen when they play these champions. In that regard, after some thinking, I have determined that perhaps the reason for this kind of passive play is that my first champions that I've ever played, when I started the game, were the kind that relied more on a more safer style of play, such as Vayne, Xerath, etc. Now from this, I could probably assume that I have developed some unreasonable habits that will affect how often I fight, such as only fighting when they fight me, or when they absolutely fuck up. So my question is, besides learning the strengths of the champion I'm playing in greater depth, what should I look out for whenever I try to make an engagement? I'm mainly looking for the basics, as I feel that's something I lack. Any advice doesn't have to be limited to winning fights, but perhaps maybe when would be a good time to trade, or whatever the term is for a one-sided trade that kinda pressures the other player(s), sometimes resulting in them having to leave lane? I'm currently Bronze, so forgive me if this kind of thing seems like it should be common sense.

**Read this, apply it and you will jump out of bronze in a few days. **

Steps to look for when initiating or thinking about a possible trade:

  1. Your position in the lane
  2. Your enemy minions, your minions. The amount of each minions along with their position to take aggression
  3. Your lane, are you winning? Are you more in risk of a jungle gank, can you make this play without getting countered? Where is the enemy Jungler?
  4. Enemy Cool downs, your cool downs, enemy summoners?
  5. Enemy spell cools downs and enemy spell levels? Enemy CC? Are any major spells down? E.G Ahri Charm or Lux Q? Does Enemy have ult?
  6. Enemy Zone of control?
  7. What are the enemy movements? Every player has a pattern, its difficult to read at first, but lower level players (P1 and below) are very obvious. Execute their mistakes in that specific timing window.
  8. What is the enemy "Range?" Range as in, what is "This" Particular player (not the champion) capable of? This is a high level of thought replicated in much higher levels of play which should not be accounted for in bronze, however its good to acknowledge their existence.
  9. what is the status on the top lane? bot lane? How many jungle camps has the enemy jungler cleared and where could his/her position be? Who may be getting ganked first? Objective timers and where to position?
  10. Bot lane and top lane minion management. How fast is bot pushing, is there a freeze being implemented? Is there a fast push around top side?
  11. What does my enemy want to do to me right now? What is my enemies goal? What can I do to stop them?

Pretty much in order to win a trade, you need to keep track of multiple things and look at league in a logical way. Don't trade because you "think" you can trade. Trade using a mathematically calculated approach rather then luck. This is something you see rarely in higher gold or platinum, much more in diamond and master tier+.

Also, don't think about all of this at once, you wont be able to. The human brain can only track up to 3 things (on average) so work on it. Slowly transition through these steps, make it a habit eventually. Humans are adapters. You will adapt to logical thinking when your in lane, you will adapt to a much more calculated lane phase, eventually climbing the rank ladder.

I can inform you now, you can get out of bronze and even into diamond 5 with just mechanics. You can have piss poor game knowledge but if you can execute each and every mistake, you will climb hard. Master the fundamentals slowly and do what you need to do. Do not concern yourself with "passive play, aggressive play" and all that other bull shit. League is more a strategy game then it is an action game, in the end its all numbers. Just learn to manipulate those numbers to your advantage. Also this takes months lol, don't think you can do it over night, even I cant. This goes much more in depth, I used to coach, i'm currently ranking up a new account so you can add me if u have any questions.

This might come off as a joke, but this is legitimately my thought process for aggressive champs:

Are their health bars full? If yes, fix that. If no --> Are their health bars empty? If yes, good job. If no, fix that.

It's racked me up a nice amount of Pantheon wins.

I think most players' problem is being too aggressive. I wrote a lot more but it got deleted, fml.

Before going all in though, maybe wait until you see the enemy jungler appear on the opposite side of the map. Also be conscious of potential TP's or global ults. Common sense is for fools, use critical thinking and be aware of your surroundings.

Basically a checkmark in yoru head of what can and cannot screw you over. Or lets say your ahri and you see an adc move up too far for a slight second and react fast enough to catch them out. Another way is to wait for a fight to erupt and go in through the chaos so you dont soak up the damage. Its basically just about what angles you cant take. Besides you dont really need to play aggressive just capitalize on enemy mistakes. Shouldnt need to label it you either play smart or you dont, you either do enough damage or need to go in more.
