Why can someone ban a teammate's champion in champion select lobby?

Literally troll 101, got my champion banned and when I go 5/8 (this is on another act. btw) so not too bad on shyvanna a champion i don't play my teamates, say "fEeDiNg PlEaSe RePoRt." As if you didnt ban my cho'gath. If your wondering I usually go cho'gath jg on this other acct. only other jungles is Ivern and a Shyvanna I bought to go AP shyvanna troll with friends. Since I assumed that the banner was an inter, I didn't go Ivern who I was good at and went Shyvanna instead.

"i never win lane against yasuo, and our last pick is hovering yasuo.. do i risk letting the enemies get yasuo, or so i just prevent that and trigger our last pick? i think i'll choose the triggering"

Your harming your teammate, who (no offense) has absolutely nothing to do with your yasou problem. Besides I have very rarely seen the case you described, 90% of the time it's something along the lines of " teammate is a X champ OTP, oh well time to ban champ X and then report him for feeding."

So what? That OTP plays a champ that someone else doesn't want to play against

If you're an OTP you have to accept that these situations will occur

Learn other champions or just suck it up

Learning other jgl's that have good ganks/team fight like Vi/J4 will make you better at the game too

Your misunderstanding me I'm not talking about the enemy team banning my champions I'm talking about many trolls will ban champions that players play in their team Not only does this lead the OTP and or the rest of the team to assume an inter is on their team but also harms the team in general, especially if their is a champ main or OTP.

I'm absolutely understanding you, if an ally does not want to play against your pick, they can ban it from you

Sure that person MIGHT be trolling or soft inting, but they might also want a more active jungle champion on their team

Now Cho'Gath... his clear is bad, his ganks are bad, he can't contest scuttle crabs too well. Can you blame them for not wanting a 47% w/r jgl on their team? It looks like a troll pick at first glance

Can also ban champions you don't want to play with. Perfectly fine reason to ban it.

People ban new champs/yasuo to not have them in their team all the time

Your harming your team, in the end.

No, the person whose hover is banned is harming their team if they only know how to play 1 champion. Also, what if that person is only now trying to learn that champ? and they are much more proficient with other champions? Isn't banning that champ the best decision for the team? I think it is. If that person can't handle that they can't handle anything anyway and they are a lost cause before even the match begun.

Everyone can play with more than one champion and as I said before the cases your talking about are rare. The vast majority of cases are a teammate looking for an excuse to report, I was not able to use any junglers I was good at in this case.

Cho'Gath's clear really isn't bad, after his first one, and his ganks aren't too bad. They can't blame me for losing when they ban a champion I've hovered, yes I could've gone Ivern, who is my secondary jungler, but at this point I'm not gonna play a sup jg with a teammate that may be inting(turns out temamate wasn't inting) How is a team supposed to win in a scenario if their jungle is pretty feeding jungle camps due to no fault of his own. What could I have done, this acct. dosen't have many champions, and the only jg champions that I know how to play comfortably I can't play.

Well at least for Yasuo its 2 birds with one stone, the enemy wont have them AND your teammates wont either. Everyone else though, i would say just offer to pick for them.

Sad thing is, even in both those situations you are better off not banning because 9 times out of 10 they will just get triggered and troll pick/play and throw your game even harder.

I'm not playing Yummi tho, I'm playing Cho'Gath a good jungler, might not have the best ganks in the world but after first clear has good clears for the rest of the game farms up pretty well, and can have successful ganks, and can also solo objectives if noticeably ahead.

Zed genius1 votes

Yeah because if the jungler wants to troll, banning yuumi will stop them from trolling. Not like there are 139 other champions they can troll on

Lots of reasons. For example, it's the first day a new champ is released. My teammate hovers the new champ. Lol fuck no BANNED.

Another scenario. My last pick hovers a high pickrate OP flavor champ. I don't want to risk playing against it. Banned.

Another scenario. My teammate hovers a champ they have zero experience playing. Or they have an abysmal winrate on them. Sorry, you are not first timing a champ with my LP. Banned.

And these scenarios together account for what 20% of such scenarios, the other 80% are your teammates going "lets int today bois, Better make sure the Lulu, dosen't build AS and hard carry."

Because I hate this dude Yasuo , and I don't want the enemy team to get him. So, if you're not first pick or your win rate is garbage with him, I will ban him

Kyaza1 votes

eh, i dont even look at who is hovered on my team. i cant play vs yasuo so he is getting banned regardless
