Garen.

Every time the enemy team has a Garen(somehow), the game just slows down to a crawl. Every time our team has Garen(somehow), the game feels way too easy. Just get Garen fed and you will always win.

You can't push Garen out of lane and go roam, because of his passive. You can't teleport to any other lane, because Garen will push the lane with his E and drop your tower with his Q. You can't roam, because if you're successful with your roam, you get punished. You need to repeatedly gank and kill Garen, if you want to make sure he stays behind. No other champion I feel requires this much babysitting to shut down. Late game he is way too hard to kill. If he get's low, he just runs away and regenerates his HP back to full. This is made worse with the warmog's passive. Late game his ult will straight up kill a squishy if they dare to go lower than 45% HP. Even without any damage items. One crit from an adc against one of your squishies will allow Garen to just delete them. If Garen gets ahead, you will need a raid group to fight him. If your raid fails to kill him fast enough, he will summon four adds to finish you off.

Something needs to be done about this champion. Every single time I see a Garen in one of my games, all happiness and joy gets sucked out of my soul.

this is a plain lie. i dont know what champions you pick into him, but there are numerous champions that slap him around in lane.

You can't push Garen out of lane and go roam, because of his passive.

His passive is pathetic and pretty much non-existent in lane. He's a melee champion so harrassing him once every 10 seconds or so isn't hard. If you have a ranged top laner, then he pretty much doesn't have a passive at all in lane. His passive is pretty weak until level 16> Even if he does get some time with it, that most likely means he's getting completely zoned from cs

You can't teleport to any other lane, because Garen will push the lane with his E and drop your tower with his Q.

There are far, FAR better split pushers than Garen. This applies to almost any chapion you leave alone in lane. If you leave anyone alone in a lane, expect to lose your tower and the wave to be shoved

You can't roam, because if you're successful with your roam, you get punished.

you always sacrifice something for roaming. Expect to lose out on cs and your tower

You need to repeatedly gank and kill Garen, if you want to make sure he stays behind. No other champion I feel requires this much babysitting to shut down.

Thats just straight up completely false. Garen Needs his cs and items just as much as anybody. Getting an early kill and zoning him afterwards will shut him down just as much as anyone else

Late game he is way too hard to kill. If he get's low, he just runs away and regenerates his HP back to full. This is made worse with the warmog's passive.

This is literally ALWAYS been the case with Garen. How is it a problem only now? His passive is pathetic until level 16 so I feel its a fair trade off

Late game his ult will straight up kill a squishy if they dare to go lower than 45% HP. Even without any damage items. One crit from an adc against one of your squishies will allow Garen to just delete them.

Turns out if any squishy want to pick a fight with a bruiser at below half health they are pretty much dead. His ult damage is actually lower than it was before if you aren't the villain. Again, wasn't a problem before but it is now?

If Garen gets ahead, you will need a raid group to fight him. If your raid fails to kill him fast enough, he will summon four adds to finish you off.

If Riven Darius MonkeyKing Irelia Fiora Gangplank Nasus Olaf Tryndamere get ahead, you will need a raid group to fight them. There are way more snowbally top laners than Garen

Points 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 apply to a number of champions, not just Garen. Only point 5 is arguable simply because most champions have in combat sustain, not out of combat sustain.

Point 1, however, is completely false. If you're playing a top laner that can push hard and roam repeatedly and successfully without killing your lane opponent and without giving up your tower you can still do that. Those champions are few and far between of course, however if you can do that against any champion you can do it against Garen.

If you're just complaining about the sustain, however, you're an idiot. Renekton, Irelia, Nasus, Cho'Gath, Mundo, Maokai, Hecarim, Trundle, and Olaf are all equal or stronger in the sustain department, and their sustain can be used in combat. Garen doesn't regenerate quickly until later levels, when the lane phase has ended, so if you're having trouble pushing Garen out of lane after 20+ minutes something is going terribly wrong.
