What if crit added armor penetration instead of damage?
So x% crit grants y% armor penetration. Adcs no longer burst squishies as hard, but do their job as tank busters. Adcs don't kill assassins as fast so we can tone them down a little. Supports don't have to be so insane, now that assassins aren't as fast. You still need tanks to force adcs to get crit, otherwise they'll get ad and attack speed because they don't have to cut through a tank. Thoughts?
In a way, this is what riot is already doing with crit. Ie now gives 100% armor penetration to a portion of damage, and the overall damage has been lowered. Supports have been scaled back slightly, looks like we're still in the middle of this. Hopefully they'll scale the current op picks back enough that crit adcs are viable again. If riot continues on this track, I expect a much healthier meta this time next year. What do you think needs to happen next?
