Thresh's Q hitbox

I have played Thresh for years. I know his Q has a "forgiving" hit box. In the last game I played, 3 times the enemy Thresh hit a max range Q that missed by a full minion distance on my screen. I thought it was weird. At one point the Thresh Q'd through a minion wave and hit our AD. My buddy who was recording the game started to comment on it. He made clips after the game and I watched them. The hook passed right through a caster minion that had next to full hp (so it didn't die which would give a valid explanation to the play). He is submitting them to reddit later tonight. If this happened once I would have written it off. To have 4 or 5 "what the fuck was that" plays in 20 minutes raises a lot of questions.

All hooks are like this for some reason. Naut hook is probably the worst of them all.

We really need a "display hitboxes" toggle when watching replays.

Anyone forget about Leblancs chain hit box?

I might be ramblin but why isn't there a true concept of height? (And crouching.) If the minions are knee high and thresh throws the hook from his body/shoulder, then it shouldn't hit any minions ever. (And you should be able to crouch to dodge it :P)

For some reason, a lot of the skill shots which link back to the champion seem to have very very generous hitboxes.

Leona, Blitz, Thresh, Naut, Le Blank.

Yet there are a few that don't, like Illaoi and Kled. These two are newer and might have the hitbox done differently on the back end.

for melee champions its especially cancer. the fucking thing has 180 degree hitbox. semi circle

Never experienced that with a Thresh hook. To me his hooks seem to have rather unforgiving hitbox but maybe that's just my aim.

I was actually playing as Nautilus early this morning and I had something similar happen. Threw my hook at enemy Ashe while she was behind minions, yet somehow it still hooked her. When it pulled me in, the hook line even went directly over two or three minion heads. I thought it was weird as I've never had a hook quite that forgiving before.

Yes, that and when you hold q, and look at the guide, it is very miss leading. Imagine, a very thin line that slightly gets bigger, and at the end it cones out. That in my experience is the realistic hit box of thresh death sentence. It's wonky to say the least, but its harder to hit a pull directly in front of you, then it is to hit the long range dank master play maker.

All normal hooks Blitzcrank Thresh Nautilus and one tether Leblanc come with a T or cone shape to double the WIDTH at max range..... this is to make it a little more forgiving when you attempt a max range (and only max range) hook or tether It's a little wonky but it's the game design so it's super thin to pass even some of the most huddled minions at times but doubles in with when it reaches the end of it's animation
